Jinger Duggar Reveals The Sweet Meaning Behind Her New Baby's Name
Counting On's Jinger Duggar is officially a mom of two after welcoming her second daughter, Evangeline Jo, with husband Jeremy Vuolo on Nov. 22, 2020. "We've got good news!" Jeremy wrote in a TLC blog post on Nov. 25. "Jinger is recovering very well, enjoying finally being able to hold her little angel." The same day, Jinger also announced the birth of her daughter on Instagram, writing, "Evangeline Jo Vuolo has arrived! We are so thankful to God for this precious little angel!" on a photo of her kissing the newborn.
The little girl weighed in at 7lbs even and measuring 20 inches long. The parents, who already shared toddler daughter Felicity, were thrilled to welcome baby No. 2 after suffering a devastating miscarriage just a year before. Although they were thrilled to be expecting again, Jinger said this pregnancy was "harder" and plagued with constant worry, she told Us Weekly in July 2020. "There were fears of losing this baby as well. It kind of took a while. We just didn't want to announce to anybody."
Despite their hardship, Jinger and Jeremy were delighted to reveal they were expecting again in May 2020 and are even more elated now that their second bundle of joy is finally here. For their little miracle, they gave her an equally special name. Keep scrolling for the details behind Evangeline's moniker.
Jinger gave her rainbow baby an uplifting name
After Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo suffered their miscarriage, the news of their pregnancy with Evangeline acted as a ray of light for the couple. Since she is their rainbow baby, they gave their precious miracle a very fitting name. "Evangeline means 'good news' and Jo is after Jeremy's middle name, Joseph," Jinger explained on her TLC blog. According to BabyNames.com, the moniker has English origins and prompts several nicknames, including Ev and Angie. Considering how Evangeline was the best news the duo could have received — her name makes perfect sense.
As for how Felicity is doing now that she is a big sister, Jinger said she is "in love" with the newborn but joked that she "has no idea how much sharing is in her future." The proud mother added, "We are so grateful to God for this beautiful gift!"
Following Jinger's pregnancy announcement in May, she raved over the joys of sisterhood. "The bond that sisters share is unique, and one I cherish every day. After all these years, they're still my best friends! I'm glad God's giving that gift for Felicity to enjoy," Jinger said in her Instagram announcement. "As for me and Jeremy, we'll definitely have our hands full! But there's nothing else we'd rather carry." Congratulations to the happy couple!
