Hilaria Baldwin Seriously Injured Two Months After Giving Birth
Hilaria Baldwin is going to be stuck in bed for a bit. In September 2020, the writer and co-host of the podcast Mom Brain gave birth to her fifth child, Eduardo, with her husband, actor Alec Baldwin.
On Nov. 15, 2020, Hilaria went for a run and took a serious fall, which resulted in a broken ankle. She gave her Instagram followers a full explanation. "I broke my ankle yesterday because you know... 2020," she began. "I went for a run and a car passed fast on this patch of road with no shoulder where there was a berm. I ran up on to the berm to avoid the car and as I was returning to the road, I fell and broke my ankle," Hilaria went on.
Hilaria noted that she's trying to keep her spirits up: "It was silly and I'm frustrated and sad... but I'm determined to be positive and heal as quickly as possible." Hilaria shared more to the story and her hubby, Alec, also had some funny things to say to his wife on Instagram. Here's the rest of the scoop.
Alec Baldwin teases Hilaria on Instagram
Hilaria Baldwin fell while running on Nov. 15, 2020, after trying to get out of the way from a fast car. The fall resulted in a broken ankle, and on Instagram, Hilaria shared the worst part about the injury: "It's hard because I can't carry my babies — amongst so many other things."
As OK! Magazine noted, Hilaria has five children with Alec Baldwin: Carmen, Rafael, Leonardo, Romeo, and baby Eduardo, who she gave birth to in September 2020. Alec is also father to a daughter, Ireland Baldwin, with his ex-wife, Kim Basinger.
But Hilaria also had a note for drivers, stressing safety for all people on the roads: "Reminder: if you are on a country road: don't speed and please slow down around runners, bikers, children and go around. It's worth the extra few seconds it takes you." Good point!
From Hilaria's Instagram post, we know too that a helpful passerby came and waited with her until her husband, Alec, was able to get there. Hilaria wrote, "Thank you to John... the kind man who stopped and helped me up from the road and waited with me until Alec came — forever grateful."
Alec commented on Hilaria's post, which showed the mama stuck in bed with her leg wrapped up and elevated. "Even debilitated as you are, you look pretty good," he wrote. "I know. I know. You'd rather be exercising." Exercising is right! Hilaria loves to work out, and her Instagram is proof.
What Hilaria does to stay in shape
In early November 2020, Hilaria Baldwin shared a video to Instagram of her favorite workout routine, just seven weeks after the birth of her and Alec Baldwin's fifth child.
The mother of five clearly gets asked all the time about her workout routine, and she noted in the caption that her regime centers around three activities. "Since so many of you ask, my workout consists of 3 main things: yoga, running, and barre," Hilaria wrote.
According to Women's Health, barre is a specific workout that builds muscle endurance by combining elements of yoga, ballet, and Pilates. Barre is also, according to the outlet, excellent for pre- and postnatal women. No wonder it's a top pick for Hilaria! She also noted that her favorite venue was Physique 57, a fitness company headquartered out of New York City.
It's no wonder Alec Baldwin teased her about the fact that she'd rather be working out than healing her broken ankle. The mother-of-five has built her whole brand around wellness and health. But this isn't the first time that Hilaria has had to slow down a bit.
How life changed for Hilaria after she met Alec
Hilaria Baldwin wears many hats (and, for the moment, a boot on her broken ankle). The mother-of-five is also an author, podcast host, wellness guru, and yoga instructor, according to Forbes. She's the author of The Living Clearly Method, which offers principles for a healthy body and mind.
Hilaria had to slow down her lifestyle after meeting husband Alec Baldwin and starting a family. According to OK! Magazine, Alec and Hilaria married in June 2012 after meeting outside a New York restaurant. Marriage and family life has certainly changed Hilaria's pace. In a 2016 interview with Town & Country, Hilaria explained: "[W]hen I met my husband, I was teaching 36 hours a week and I was managing a yoga studio that I opened. And now, I just teach once a week."
Life has definitely changed for both Hilaria and Alec, but the duo seems united and passionate about their lively brood. And until Hilaria's ankle heals, it looks like it's laundry duty for Alec!
