Bachelorette Fans Think They've Uncovered This Huge Spoiler
Another day, another Bachelorette conspiracy. Now that it's officially Tayshia Adams' season of The Bachelorette, fans are trying to dissect and predict what will happen on her journey. During her first one-on-one date with Brendan Morais, the two of them discussed getting married and divorced at a young age. Tayshia was married to a man named Josh Bourelle before she became a part of Bachelor Nation. Now, fans are speculating if he might play some sort of role in her season thanks to a possibly misleading trailer and TikTok user's theory.
In the Bachelor subreddit, there's an embed of the TikTok video in question. A fan who watched a trailer for Tayshia's portion of the season with closed captioning shared an interesting observation, remarking, "The captions came on and in the background there's a voiceover of a man saying 'It's only a matter of time before she realizes the truth' or something like that." The name listed for the person who said that is "Josh Bourelle," which makes it seem like he pops up on her season. If this means that Josh actually does show up, it wouldn't be the first time that production has surprised the lead with a former love interest. However, further investigation debunked this speculation.
It's probably not Tayshia Adams' ex in the trailer
The trailer in question is from a video that The Bachelorette Twitter account posted on Nov. 10, 2020. However, it's not the first time those words were spoken in a preview for this season. Well, sort of. In a video that the show shared from its account on Oct. 13, 2020, a very similar sentence was uttered, but this time it wasn't via a faceless voiceover. Instead, at the 1:17 mark, contestant Bennett Jordan is shown saying, "It's only a matter of time before Clare realizes the truth." In the video posted to tease the Tayshia Adams' portion of the season, this mysterious voice says "she" instead of "Clare," so perhaps there was some quote splicing going down in the editing room.
It's also quite possible that more than one person shared a similar sentiment during filming. And the theory that Josh Bourelle does show up is gaining a lot of steam among the fandom. One Reddit user claimed, "I just sent this to my friend who went to Concordia with Tayshia and Josh and she confirmed that that is Josh's voice!"
The Bachelor franchise is known for duping the viewers with misleading trailers. But, then again, it could be a case of "where there's smoke, there's fire." Only time will tell if Tayshia's season could truly be the "most dramatic" ever.
