DWTS Pro Gleb Savchenko Reveals Sad News About His Marriage
Gleb Savchenko is one of television's top dancers, spending only eight seasons on Dancing with the Stars as a celebrity dance partner. He kept the dance theme going when he married Elena Samodanova, a choreographer for the competing dance-based reality show, So You Think You Can Dance. According to L.A. Parent, he two first met at a dance studio in Moscow in 2002 and as soon as Gleb laid eyes on her, he thought, "Oh she's so cute. I have to ask her out." They were married five years later, and welcomed their first child, Olivia, in 2011, and their second, Zlata, in August 2017.
For the better part of a decade, Gleb and Elena seemed to be one of the most solid, best-looking, and well-choreographed couples in the world. Unfortunately, it seems it was all too good to be true. Although the couple seemed to be doing well as recently as September 2020, when Elena took to Instagram to lovingly with Gleb a happy birthday, they both shared some sad news in November 2020.

Gleb Savchenko and Elena Samodanova are over
The news that Gleb Sacvhenko and Elena Samodanova were splitting broke over Instagram in November 2020, with Elena first sharing the revelation on her story. She wrote, per Us Weekly, "After 14 years of marriage with my deepest sadness our road is coming to the end." She also shared a broken heart emoji and a GIF of a heart breaking with the words "break up" written on the image.
Gleb then shared a bit more formal statement on his Instagram, writing, "It is with a heavy heart that I tell you my wife and I are parting ways after 14 years of marriage. We still intend to coparent our wonderful children together who we love so dearly, and we will strive to continue to be the best parents that we can to them. We ask that you respect our family's need for privacy and healing during this time." Interestingly, Gleb sang Elena's praises back in October 2020, calling her the love of his life. Hmm.
Elena then shared a meme that said, "I don't hate you, I'm just disappointed you turned into everything you said you'd never be," which doesn't seem so positive. It's unclear what happened between the two, but there's no truth that Gleb's dance partner, Chrishell Stause, played a role in the split. She took to her Instagram Stories to note that she and Gleb created a "strong supportive friendship, but nothing more."
