Does Kim Kardashian Make More Money Than Kanye West?
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were already superstars in their own right before they began dating in 2012. The rapper had released six Billboard charting albums and staked his claim in fashion with the 2009 release of his Nike Air Yeezys. Meanwhile, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was building her celebrity through the success of her reality show, spin-off shows, and Dash clothing stores.
Following their wedding in 2014, the reality star and rapper welcomed four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, and expanded their empires to include mogul ventures in beauty and fashion. What started out as just a sneaker for West has now grown into a full $3 billion dollar clothing company called Yeezy, according to Business Insider. In April 2020, Forbes credited West for "officially" being a billionaire.
Kardashian, on the other hand, leveraged her reality star fame to become the founder of her own beauty company, KKW Beauty, and shapewear company, SKIMS. A June 2020 Forbes report valued Kardashian's beauty company at $1 billion and her overall net worth at $900 million. With the couple's current business endeavors launching their combined net worth well into the billions, it's worth knowing which one of them brings home the most money.
Kim Kardashian says Kanye West 'probably' makes more
Kim Kardashian West appeared on the season premiere of David Letterman's Netflix show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, when she was asked who makes the most money between her and her rapper mogul husband Kanye West. While Forbes already let us know the answer to that question, Kardashian confirmed by answering: "Him, probably."
Forbes reported Kardashian's net worth at just $100 million shy of one billion, with West deemed a new billionaire by the outlet. Still, the mother of four joked that the married couple is "exactly even [in earnings]." She went on to express her humility for the couple's earned wealth. "We both are really blessed and do extremely well, and I'm really grateful," Kardashian told Letterman.
During the interview, the star also touched on how she makes more money on Instagram than she does from her reality show. "We would not be who we are today without Keeping Up With The Kardashians and that's why we continue to share our lives," she told Letterman. "Even if, realistically, we can post something on social media and make more than we do a whole season." It's clear that Kimye are enjoying their billions' worth of fame.
