Why 90 Day Fiance's Nicole And Azan Still Haven't Tied The Knot
90 Day Fiancé stars Azan Tefou and Nicole Nafziger had a rough go of it from day one. First, there was the obvious: Nicole lives in Florida, and Azan lives in Morocco, so their relationship existed mostly over text and FaceTime. There was also the problem of Nicole being a single mother, which meant it was hard for her to make time for Azan. Then there were the little jabs that went back and forth between the two.
In one of the most uncomfortable scenes in 90 Day Fiancé history, Azan told Nicole to get off her butt and go to the gym. Nicole and Azan were on a light hike in the desert when Nicole began to complain that the walk was too physically difficult. At one point, she was so out of breath she had to sit down, which greatly annoyed Azan. "Stop being lazy, and go do some workouts, honey," he said. Azan has never shied away from critiquing Nicole's weight. When producers later asked about the tense scene, he claimed to be 55% attracted to Nicole because of her "unhealthy" body type. Yikes!
Even so, Nicole stuck with Azan. She also didn't leave him when she caught him texting other women or fighting with her mom. It seems that all the hardship actually brought them closer together, but they still haven't made it down the aisle. Read on to find out why Nicole and Azan still haven't tied the knot.
Fans are confused about Nicole and Azan's relationship
90 Day Fiancé stars Nicole Nafziger and Azan Tefou were supposed to get married in 2018, but they postponed the wedding for various reasons, including that they hadn't managed to get the paperwork together yet. It also probably didn't help that days after the missed deadline, Azan told Nicole he was sending flirtatious text messages to other women.
Nicole was crushed. To add insult to energy, she faced significant backlash from fans who could not understand her decision to stay with Azan. It got so bad that Nicole and Azan decided not to return to the next season of 90 Day Fiancé, with Nicole vowing to never appear on TV again, per Screen Rant.
As of 2020, Nicole and Azan are still very much together. Nicole even made one of her semi-annual trips to Morocco and got stuck for months because of Covid-19 lockdowns. But despite their years-long relationship, they have not publicly discussed plans for a wedding. Nicole isn't stressed about it, though. Replying to a question about the wedding date from a fan on her Instagram, she had this to say (per Screen Rant): "Hassan and I are still together and planning for the future together." She added, "[The wedding] will happen in the right time."
