Who Is Mary Cosby From Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City?
The latest show to hit the Real Housewives franchise has everyone talking — and possibly praying, too. According to the first trailer released, the premise of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is to follow a group of women as they navigate their never-ending quest to achieve perfection, and boy, does it look... eventful. "With a deep-rooted history, these women share a special bond, but when circles are this tight it's only a matter of time before beliefs and personalities collide," according to Bravo.
The cast is set to include Lisa Barlow, Mary Cosby, Heather Gay, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, and Jen Shah. And while the reality series utilizes an ensemble cast, there's one cast member that's already caused quite the stir: Mary Cosby. On the surface, Mary seems like your run-of-the-mill Housewife. Beautiful, successful and rich? Check, check, and check! But there's much more to Mary than meets the eye.
Keep reading after the jump to learn an interesting aspect of Mary's life that has everyone talking.
Mary Cosby has an interesting marriage
So, Mary Cosby is married to her... her grandpa? No, not quite. According to Bravo, Mary is married to her late grandmother's second husband Robert Cosby, Sr. The story goes that in order to inherit her familial empire of churches, restaurants, and much, much more, she was basically required to marry him. Sounds so romantic, right? Sure, we know what you're thinking but check this out — Mary and her hubby have been married for 20 years and also share a son together. Maybe this match really was made in heaven?
And while we're sure the other Housewives will beat that particular storyline into oblivion (lest we never forget Puppygate), that's just one facet of Mary's very colorful personality. Her bio describes as both a "Pentecostal First Lady," who has "a penchant for God, couture and only the finest champagne." Yep, it appears she's a natural-born Housewife after all.
But her bio also reads a bit ominous, hinting at some particular discord between herself and the rest of the ladies: "Small but mighty and always dressed to the nines, her unconventional past has made her guarded and she quickly finds herself on shaky ground with some of the ladies." DUN DUN DUN. Can't wait to see what kind of Housewives mischief Mary and the rest of the Salt Lake City cast gets in!
