Why Bachelorette Clare Crawley Wasn't Impressed With Brandon Goss
Season 16 of The Bachelorette starring Clare Crawley premiered with mixed reviews, with some fans even expressing anger about the first episode. And even though it seems like host Chris Harrison says this every time, it does seem like Clare's season will be unlike any other, with hints that she will get replaced.
As if this isn't enough drama, the season kicked off with some intense vibes, and not all of them good. For instance, an expert dished to Nicki Swift about the significance of contestant Blake Moynes breaking the rules to talk to Clare before the season began. Was his breach a major red flag?
But that's not all. As the guys work hard to gain access to one-on-one time with Clare, some of these long-sought chats are busts. One major fumble occurred during the Oct. 20, 2020, episode when contestant Brandon Goss majorly turned Clare off. Keep reading to find out what Brandon said.
Did Brandon Goss forget to do his research?
The Bachelorette contestant Brandon Goss (pictured above) sat down with Clare Crawley during the Oct. 20, 2020 episode for some one-on-one time. Things started well enough, with Brandon noting that he "had to be" a contestant once he found out that Clare was the leading lady. But Brandon's sweet opening soon turned awkward when he said, per Us Weekly, "First of all, you're obviously absolutely gorgeous. But other than that, to be honest, I don't really know anything about you. I know you're from Sacramento."
"You don't know anything about me?" Clare asked. Brandon replied, "I obviously don't know you on a personal level, I don't know your history. You're just so beautiful and I wanted to get to know you." Clare later vented in a confessional, "Brandon can't even think of one thing he likes about me, like, why are you here?"
When the season got delayed because of the coronavirus, Clare said she Googled the men who were coming to meet her, although she noted that she didn't reach out to any of them. Keeping that in mind, it makes sense that Clare is annoyed with Brandon. Why didn't he do at least a little internet sleuthing before meeting? Furthermore, as Bustle noted, there are a few red flags about Brandon. The New York City realtor lists acting as one of his interests on his Corcoran bio, offering the possibility he might be more interested in exposure than Clare. We guess we'll have to wait and see how this one plays out!
