The Real Reason Big Brother's Christmas Abbott Got Arrested

On Season 19, Christmas Abbott made her first two weeks in the Big Brother house quite memorable — by breaking her foot while horsing around with a fellow castmate (per ScreenRant). The former CrossFit athlete has returned for Big Brother 22: All-Stars. Despite her initial injury, Christmas did make it to the final three before being evicted from Big Brother Season 19.

After her time on Big Brother, ScreenRant reported that in October 2017 Christmas started dating Benjamin Bunn, a Crossfit Athlete and former Army paratrooper. That following March of 2018, Christmas announced she was pregnant with her first child. According to Us Weekly, she gave birth to a healthy son named Loyal on Oct. 18, 2018. Sadly, Christmas and the father of her son had a massive falling-out months before the baby was born.

According to The Cinemaholic, before Loyal's birth, Christmas' world turned upside down when she discovered in August 2018 that Benjamin was cheating on her with a woman named Samantha Jane Morse. At that moment, everything changed for Christmas and set in motion the events leading up to her arrest. Keep on reading to find out what went down.

'Big Brother's Christmas Abbott got some devastating news

As Christmas Abbott was reeling from the news that her fiancé was cheating on her in August 2018, The Blast reported that Christmas went to confront the alleged mistress of her baby's father. The arresting officer alleged that Christmas threw a coffee cup at the woman and "caused a scene."

Outside the gym, according to the police report, an eyewitness claimed Christmas got into her white Mercedes-Benz SUV and "intentionally" rammed the woman's car, a black Honda Civic sedan, then put the SUV in reverse and struck the Honda again. Damages amounted to $5,000, the report said. Christmas was eight-months pregnant at the time, so the police did not process her. However, authorities ordered her to turn herself in at a later date.

Of the incident, Christmas' rep told E! News in November 2018, "This incident was during a very stressful and difficult time amplified by unexpected challenges and pregnancy. Christmas is being proactive in her responsibility to getting this matter resolved and moving forward with her life. She is and has been, solely focused on time with her son and recovering from a difficult pregnancy and delivery."

Christmas Abbott turned herself in a few months after the incident

According to People, in November 2018, Christmas was arrested after turning herself in to the police on third-degree felony and criminal mischief greater than $1,000 charges. Luck was on Christmas' side, as The Badass Body Diet author avoided jail time by agreeing to a plea deal. TMZ reported that she was sentenced to 12 months probation and 25 hours of community service and must pay $1,357.95 in restitution.

While it was a blessing that Christmas wasn't going to prison, things continued to be messy between herself and Benjamin Bunn. TMZ reported that he attempted to gain custody of their son Loyal and requested the reality star submit to a paternity test after questioning if he was Loyal's father.

Christmas sent an email to her fans in April 2020 confirming her Big Brother 22: All-Stars casting, The Scottish Sun reported. In the same email, she also revealed that her son would stay with Benjamin while filming the show. Adding that the former couple is "leaving the past in the past and focusing on the present and future of our son."

It is wonderful to hear that the exes have been able to put their past trouble behind them to co-parent their son. Here's to hoping things will be much more calm for Christmas once the current season of Big Brother: All-Stars ends. Who knows, maybe this season she'll make it to the end!
