Are Emma Roberts And Billie Lourd Friends In Real Life?

Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd have been co-stars for years. The two were first linked on the set of Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens, with Roberts playing sorority Queen Bee Chanel Oberlin, and Lourd portraying her trusted sidekick, underling, and punching bag, Chanel No. 3. The two reunited on the show's second season, and again on another Ryan Murphy joint, American Horror Story. The actors even worked together on a project not helmed by Murphy, 2018's Billionaire Boys Club.

Aside from their work together, the two actors grew up in similarly unique circumstances. Both Roberts and Lourd have been raised among Hollywood royalty; Roberts is the and the daughter of Eric Roberts and, by extension, the niece of Julia Roberts, while Lourd is the daughter of the late Carrie Fisher which, in turn, makes her the granddaughter of Golden Age icon Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher. The point is, Roberts and Lourd seem to have a lot in common. But, as we all know, that isn't always a recipe for success in showbiz. Are these two something more than co-workers? Might they be...actual friends?

Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd hang out all the time

As if they don't get enough of each other on set, Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd have been known to hang out outside of work, too. Both actors attended the Met Gala in 2019 and posed for pictures in their camp-themed attire, and they both attended an engagement party of perennial Ryan Murphy diva and Scream Queens co-star Lea Michele. Michele posted a photo of the three of them on her Instagram story (via Teen Vogue), with a caption of "Kappa forever," referencing the fictional sorority from the series.

Lourd and Roberts linked up again at the former's 25th birthday party in 2017. The moment was captured by Lourd's stepfather, Bruce Bozzi, who is partnered with Bryan Lourd, Billie's biological father. Bozzi posted a photo of him, Billie, Bryan, and Roberts to Instagram, captioned, "Happy birthday to the best stepdaughter." Not only is Roberts friends with Lourd, but she's apparently earned the stamp of approval from not one, but two fathers. With that under her belt, it's safe to say they'll be friends for the long haul.
