The Real Reason Kim Zolciak-Biermann Won't Go Back To RHOA
Reality star Kim Zolciak-Biermann is opening up about the possibility of her return to her alma mater: Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The Andy Cohen executive-produced series first premiered in 2008 with its original cast: NeNe Leakes, DeShawn Snow, Shereé Whitfield, Lisa Wu and, of course, Kim Zoliciak (pre-marriage to former NFL player Kroy Biermann). During the fifth season of RHOA, Kim left Real Housewives behind and started her own reality television series, Don't Be Tardy (originally a spin-off titled Don't Be Tardy for the Wedding), in 2012, after her viral song "Tardy for the Party."
Although the Kim-focused reality series returned for an eighth season in October 2020, original fans of the Atlanta-based reality TV personality miss the star's days on Real Housewives and are hoping for a possible return ... which may be just around the corner.
"I think, and this has kind of just come to my mind over the last couple months, that the first season, all of us — Shereé [Whitfield], Nene and I — [we] were friends before this ever started for years; They should just bring back the whole cast from season one and like, 'Where are we now?'" Kim said on an October 2020 episode of E!'s Daily Pop. "Like, go out to dinner and do this all over again. Because I think we're really fun, you know, in all honesty."
Kim Zolciak-Biermann won't go back to RHOA without NeNe Leakes
During an October 2020 interview with E!'s Daily Pop, reality television star Kim Zolciak-Biermann clarified that unless the season one cast of Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta is willing to come back, she will not be returning. "... [A]s far as going back now, for what?" Kim asked. "For who? No. Shereé's not there. NeNe's not there. Like, no." The idea of a "where are they now" reunion of the season one cast of RHOA would seem promising if it weren't for one major problem ... NeNe has no interest.
In October 2020, NeNe spoke to Extra's Billy Bush about her time on the Bravo reality series and how she was "pushed out" of the show, with producers wanting less and less of NeNe per season. "I am not going to return to 'Housewives,' that's not what this is about ... If I wanted to return to 'Housewives,' I could have," she said. "I had an offer ... I am very hopeful that we can work our relationship out behind the scenes without everyone being involved."
For now, Season 1 fans of RHOA will simply have to wait out any possible negotiations and catch Kim on Don't Be Tardy.
