The Masked Singer's Ken Jeong Has A Surprising Theory For The Baby Alien
The Masked Singer is one of the more wacky singing competition shows on television. Singers and rappers across all musical genres put on an unrecognizable disguise and sing their hearts out for a little over a minute. Then the judges — composed of actor-comedian Ken Jeong, actor Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, former Pussy Cat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, and singer-songwriter Robin Thicke — and audience members vote on who they believe are under the outrageous costumes.
In its three seasons, masked singers have ranged from Cheetah-licious singer and The Real co-host Adrienne Bailon-Houghton to American Idol alum Chris Daughtry. The show premiered its fourth season on Sept. 23, 2020, and viewers are already guessing the possible celebs under the elaborate get-ups. During the Season 4 debut episode, rapper Busta Rhymes was unmasked as the Dragon, per Parade, from Group A of the contestants, which included a Giraffe, Popcorn, Snow Owls, and a Sun. Episode 2, premiering Sept. 30, will reveal Group B — a Baby Alien, Crocodile, Gremlin, Seahorse, Serpent, and Whatchamacallit.
Of course, fans and even the judges are already guessing who they believe are under the new costumes for the second group, and judge Jeong had a curious choice on who the extraterrestrial infant could be. Keep scrolling after the jump to check out his conspiracy theory-level guess.
Ken Jeong's Baby Alien guess isn't too outrageous
Leave it to the hilarious Ken Jeong to come up with the most random (or most genius) guess for a masked singer. The comedian tapped into his fanboy love for the iconic show, Friends, to theorize about the identity of Baby Alien (pictured above). In a promo video for Baby Alien, Jeong speculated, "This person guest-starred on Friends. His character on Friends loved hand puppets." He continued, "Also in the clue package there was a vampire stake. And this person was married to Buffy The Vampire Slayer." Any guesses? No?
"This could be Freddie Prinze Jr.," the comedian announced (with a straight face). "So I guess I'm slaying this guess, yo." To which host Nick Cannon solemnly said, "No."
According to Entertainment Weekly, "On the Season 9 episode, 'The One With the Manny,' Prinze played Sandy, a recorder-playing male nanny (aka 'manny') who uses puppets to entertain Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) baby daughter, Emma." Also, Freddie Prinze Jr. is indeed married to Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played the vampire-slaying Buffy character in the '90s show.
Who knows, Jeong may be onto something here.
