Why Christina Anstead's Instagram Is Causing A Stir

Christina and Ant Anstead announced their split on Sept. 18, 2020, less than two years after getting married. Christina shared a post on her Instagram with the caption, "Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate. We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority. We appreciate your support and ask for privacy for us and our family as we navigate the future."

The two first started dating soon after Christina's very public divorce from ex husband Tarek El Moussa. The former Flip or Flop stars split in late 2016 and shared a statement on the breakup with People, saying in part, "During the [divorce process], we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be. We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together."

Shortly after their divorce, Christina began dating British TV personality Ant, and the two were married by December 2018. They share a son together, Hudson London Anstead. Though the two appeared happy on the outside, their marriage fell apart. There's still a lot of talk swirling about the couple's split, including the fact that Christina seemingly deleted all photos from her wedding with Ant from her Instagram, according to Page Six.

Christina Anstead deleted her wedding photos from Instagram

Page Six reported on Sept. 25, 2020, that Christina Anstead had removed all traces of her December 2018 wedding with Ant Anstead from her Instagram account. Ant, on the other hand, still has a wedding photo displayed on his Instagram. Christina hasn't (yet) wiped her Instagram of Ant completely, though, but she has limited commenting on her page.

Christina and Ant's December 2018 wedding was a winter wonderland — truly! The couple invited friends to their home in Newport Beach, Calif., under the guise of simply having a party, People reported at the time. About 70 guests came to their home for the surprise wedding that went off without a hitch, as the couple told the magazine. It wasn't easy keeping the party a secret. Christina told People, "Every day we were checking the internet to see if anyone found out. Then the day we went to get our marriage license, the guy working was, like, hyperventilating, excited. We had to tell him this is a huge secret. No one knows."

The ceremony involved their entire blended family — Christina's two children from her marriage with Tarek, Taylor and Brayden, and Ant's two children from a previous marriage, Amelie and Archie. Ant told People of their kids' involvement, "We wanted to make it about the kids. It's the six of us. We're a blended family so it was really important for them to be a part of it."

Ant Anstead says he 'never gave up' on relationship with Christina Anstead

Since his split from Christina Anstead, Ant Anstead has chosen to not say much on the topic. However, on Sept. 26, 2020, he shared a photo of the two of them on Instagram with the caption, "Anyone who really knows me knows that I don't like to share private matters publicly. I have remained silent while holding on to hope. I never gave up on us. I pray Christina's decision brings her happiness." This begs the question: What actually happened?

Ant shared a photo with Christina in July 2020 for International Best Friends Day and had sweet photos with their son, Hudson, as recently as Sept. 13. Since the breakup, though, both of the photos Ant has shared have been in black and white, which is not the norm for him and could be a sign of how he's truly feeling about the divorce. He, like Christina, has also limited commenting on his account, instead choosing only to share his photos without allowing people to chime in with their own opinions.

Christina seems to be taking a bit of a different approach with her most recent Instagram — a selfie with a caption about her life not going how she expected, but "Instead of getting stuck in these 'setbacks' I choose to look at these challenges as opportunities to grow." She also thanked people for supporting her and said she was taking time to "clear the noise."

A source claimed Christina Anstead felt 'lonely and unhappy' in her marriage

We still don't know for sure what went wrong with Christina and Ant Anstead's marriage, but Ant's Sept. 26, 2020, Instagram post definitely makes it sound like it was a decision Christina made on her own. Christina's Instagram from the same day mentions a state of "anxiousness" that she feels like she lives in, which could have contributed to the marriage falling apart. And though some speculated that Ant might be interested in moving back to his home country of England, sources told Life and Style that his life was in California and he had no desire to return. The sources did say, though, that the breakup was sudden.

"The cracks in Christina and Ant's marriage began to surface recently but friends didn't expect them to split," a source claimed. "They're really shocked that it has come to this." Another source told the magazine that they heard the couple had "grown apart." Another source revealed to People that Christina felt lonely and unhappy in her marriage. The source also said that the problems started when the couple had Hudson in September 2019. "Christina found it difficult to balance everything," the source said and added, "Their marriage was struggling."

Fans will just have to keep an eye on their social media pages for more intel into how they're handling the split and moving forward.
