Jamie Foxx Reveals His True Feelings About Garcelle Beauvais
Jamie Foxx is an Oscar winner and a Grammy winner, and many wouldn't be surprised if he ends up finishing off the coveted EGOT. The man is immensely talented and comedically gifted, as evidenced by his impressive range of musical impressions. But before Foxx was the multi-talented mogul he is today, he was a TV star, starting with In Living Color before landing his series, The Jamie Foxx Show.
Throughout Foxx's enviable career, he has met many talented people, including Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Garcelle Beauvais. And it was on Foxx's self-titled sitcom that he first met Garcelle, with the two playing romantic interests Jamie and Fancy. Their chemistry was instantly recognizable by everyone, a fact that was not lost on the two of them. During a September 2020 visit to Garcelle's podcast, Going to Bed With Garcelle, Foxx was blunt about Garcelle's other romantic entanglements, joking, "I hate them all." Oh la la! What's more? Fans and friends, including Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss, have been waiting for the duo to get together since The Jamie Foxx Show debuted in 1996.
So is there a chance for romance in the future? Here's the truth about Garcelle and Foxx's relationship.
Jamie Foxx and Garcelle Beauvais had a pact
Back when Jamie Foxx and Garcelle Beauvais were playing Jamie and Fancy, they made a pact that they would not date each other until the series wrapped. But when the sitcom did finally wrap in 2001, Garcelle had already moved on to another relationship. Foxx joked about the bad timing during the episode of Going to Bed With Garcelle, quipping to Garcelle, "I think me and you should have been together." He continued, via People, "Every time I see [you with another man], I'm like damn, I f***ed up." Foxx also teased that even though they've both been in other relationships, he and Garcelle "are in a forever relationship."
Although these two aren't romantically linked (yet), they still keep regular contact. Garcelle told Us Weekly about their long relationship in 2019, saying, "I've seen him go from party boy bachelor to a really great dad... it's really beautiful." Garcelle also told Andy Cohen during an April 2020 appearance on Watch What Happens Live (via The Daily Dish) that Foxx was "really excited" that she was joining The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills. "He sends me texts and, you know, sometimes voice messages," she reported to the Bravo host. "We love each other," Garcelle said. "We're like brother and sister." Ah, so that's the kind of forever relationship Jamie Foxx referenced!
Even if Foxx and Garcelle never get together, we have a feeling their bond will last a lifetime. Talk about a sweet friendship, right?
