The Internet Reacts To BTS' Showstopping 2020 VMA Performance
Whenever BTS does a thing, you can always count on their fans — affectionately known as ARMY — to react in a big way. So when the K-pop mega group performed their first-ever English-language single "Dynamite" at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, naturally their fans flooded social media to rave over the performance... and how the members of the group looked, of course.
The seven members of BTS — RM, V, Suga, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, and Jungkook — broadcast their performance from South Korea due to COVID-19-related travel restrictions, but the distance didn't slow them down from putting on a flawless performance. And it was the very first performance of the new song, not that you could tell. It was so seamless that it was like they'd been doing it for years.
The guys of BTS dressed in their best suits to sing and dance to "Dynamite" and their fans took to Twitter in droves. Obviously, we took note of some of the best reactions. Check them out!
The BTS Army gushed over the VMA performance and they're not wrong
BTS' performance of "Dynamite" at the 2020 VMAs has everyone talking and with good reason. One Twitter user wisely pointed out that the group "took over an American awards show and made it their own!" — not just with their performance, but with their collection of awards as well. There were many other similar comments about how impressive the performance was, but what really has us quick scrolling Twitter are the comments about the guys themselves.
One fan can't get enough of V simply fixing his necktie mid-song (calling it the "sexiest thing ever"), but we get the appeal of that and support fangirling over it! Another Twitter fan GIF'd J-Hope dancing and called out his "moves, vocals, stage presence plus the mf forehead – we are blessed tenfolds," and yes, we are blessed indeed.
Have we mentioned how hilarious the BTS ARMY is? Like this fan who tweeted that Jungkook could kick them anytime and they "would thank him for it," which sounds aggressive... but if you've spent any length of time on Twitter, you get the sentiment behind it. And of course, you have the fans who love the interactions between the boys — like a bit with RM and V that has this fan swooning.
Long story short — BTS did a thing and the internet had a meltdown, as per usual.
