The Untold Truth Of Sofia Pernas
Season 3 of Selling Sunset centered around Chrishell Stause and Justin Hartley's messy divorce. She said he blindsided her, informing her he had filed for divorce via text. The alleged snub incensed Selling Sunset viewers to the point where even Hartley's first ex-wife, Lindsay Hartley, seemingly spoke out in his defense. As of this writing, the This is Us actor has stayed quiet about his divorce becoming a reality TV storyline.
It's possible that Hartley's taking the high road (and maybe some advice from a seasoned publicist), but it would also make sense if he just didn't want to dwell on the past since he's in a new relationship with Sofia Pernas. Hartley filed for divorce from Stause in November 2019. In May 2020, TMZ shared photos of Hartley kissing Pernas as she dropped him off at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Los Angeles. Although the two were first romantically linked in May 2020, they (and Stause) go back to 2015 as The Young and the Restless alums.
Us Weekly reported that Pernas played Hartley's girlfriend on the soap from 2015 to 2016. Stause appeared on the show a few weeks after Pernas' story wrapped. Interestingly enough, all three were seemingly friendly at one point. The Daily Mail shared screenshots of Pernas and Stause commenting and "liking" each other's Instagram photos over the years.
In August 2020, People reported that Pernas and Hartley's relationship became social media official with them sharing Instagram Story photos with very similar captions. Although Pernas has been in the spotlight thanks to her relationship with Hartley, there's more to her than her love life.
Sofia Pernas has been making a name for herself in Hollywood for years
Following her time on the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, Sofia Pernas booked gigs on several other television shows. In addition to landing a recurring role on Jane the Virgin from 2016 to 2017, she was also part of a short-lived show called The Brave. In 2019, Pernas nabbed a starring role on the scripted CBS series Blood & Treasure. She has also acted in the television movies He Knows Your Every Move and Transylvania.
According to her CBS bio, Pernas grew up in Orange County, Calif., but she was actually born in Fes, Morocco to "a Moroccan mother and Galician father." Given her parents' different cultural backgrounds, it's not surprising that Pernas is multilingual, speaking Moroccan, Spanish, German, and English. Her bio describes her as "an avid gamer, lover of books, and self-proclaimed sci-fi nerd." In addition to her acting talents, she plays volleyball, tennis, and piano. In her spare time, she enjoys riding motorcycles, rapping in German, and doing the moonwalk.
Pernas' relationship with Justin Hartley has definitely increased her public profile, but she's certainly impressive and incredibly talented in her own right.
