The Truth About Alaskan Bush People's Bear And Raiven's Relationship
Alaskan Bush People, one of Discovery Channel's most popular TV shows, captures the interpersonal relationships of the Brown family and their respective significant others. Although there's plenty of drama to go around with the siblings, there's no relationship that seems quite as intense as that between Bear Brown and his now-ex-fiancee, Raiven Adams.
To recap, Raiven met Bear in August 2018 because her mother got hired as the photographer for Noah Brown's wedding, according to People. Bear said of Raiven at the time, "She is truly the full package. She is like, beauty in every sense of the word, inside and out. And she is the most awesome and extreme woman I've ever met! I adore her, honestly."
In late August 2019, the couple announced that they were engaged, People reported. Two weeks later, in early September 2019, the couple announced that they had split and revealed their surprising baby news. The pair briefly reconciled shortly after, only to break up again in mid-October 2019, per In Touch Weekly.
The exes' son, River, arrived on March 9, 2020, according to The Sun, bringing so much joy for the family. However, River's birth has also seriously escalated the drama between the parents — keep reading to find out all the tumultuous details of Bear and Raiven's relationship.
Raiven Adams got an order of protection against Bear Brown
When Alaskan Bush People's Bear Brown announced that he and then ex-fiancee, Raiven Adams, were expecting a baby, they spoke about the happy news as two committed co-parents. "Raiven and I are excited to share we're expecting a baby this spring!" says Brown. "Even though we're no longer together, we're still friends and dedicated to raising a healthy and happy child," Bear told People.
Although the sentiment was collaborative, things quickly took a turn in their relationship. In February 2020, Raiven came forward with "allegations of abuse" against Bear, according to The Sun. Raiven cited Bear's "erratic" and "abusive" behavior, alleging he threatened her with a gun and claimed that "gun laws don't apply to him." Raiven even alleged that Bear "mentally abused her for months."
Raiven received "a short-term Petition for Domestic Violence Protective Order," however, three days before River's birth in March 2020, she dissolved the order in March, The Sun reported.
Despite this change, things haven't improved for the pair since their son's birth.
Raiven Adams and Bear Brown are struggling to co-parent
River was born prematurely, and Raiven had to stay in the hospital with her son for several weeks, as The Ashley's Reality Roundup noted. Bear told his followers on Instagram that he was not informed about his son's birth for two days and, to ensure his fatherly role, took a paternity test. "I am not trying to un-establish myself as River's dad, I am trying to establish myself AS his dad, so that I will have equal rights as a parent!" Bear said, per The Sun.
As Raiven reportedly sought sole custody of River, Bear issued claims of parental alienation. "He [Bear] has always been welcome to see him," Raiven told In Touch Weekly about the allegations. "He is acting like he can't see him, which is very strange. ... I've even offered to bring our son to him. I don't think he understands what being a parent is yet. Hopefully when he meets him, it will change his view and help him focus on our son."
Things seemed to be on an upswing in August 2020, when Bear claimed to In Touch Weekly that he had planned a visit with River. However, Raiven told the outlet she wasn't aware of Bear's plans but expressed hope it would happen. "He hasn't told me he is coming, but, if he is, I'm happy for my son," she shared.
Hopefully, things can get smoothed out between the parents in the future.
