What Marysol Patton From Real Housewives Of Miami Is Up To Today
Although the Real Housewives of Miami only lasted three seasons, some cast members were able to take better advantage of the short-lived opportunity than others. Original RHOM star, Marysol Patton, for example, went on to do many other things with her fame, along with her mother Elsa, a fan favorite.
But before we dive deep into what Marysol has been up to, let's rewind a bit. The series premiered in 2011 with Adriana de Moura, Lea Black, Alexia Echevarria, Marysol Patton, Larsa Pippen, and Cristy Rice. Pippen and Rice didn't return for Season 2 and got replaced by Lisa Hochstein, Joanna Krupa, Karent Sierra, and Ana Quincoces. In Season 3, Marysol got demoted to a mere "friend of," along with Quincoces. Their star power didn't go unnoticed, and perhaps this explains why the show got canceled in 2013.
Some of the women continued living lavish lives, running their foundations and small businesses in Miami away from the cameras, including Marysol. With that in mind, let's explore how far she's come since the show wrapped.
Is Marysol Patton still a 'PR maven'?
Marysol Patton started on the Real Housewives Of Miami already pretty well known in her native Miami, according to her Bravo bio. The bio noted how she was the owner of a top tier PR firm, The Patton Group, outlining, "armed with her bedazzled iPhone and a hot female staff, this PR maven definitely knows how to throw a party for her A-list clients."
Although Marysol was incredibly successful, her LinkedIn reveals her ownership of The Patton Group ended in 2016. It's unclear whether she still runs her business, but on her Instagram profile, she still has a Patton Group email listed for "collaborations." So it looks like she's still available in some capacity for PR work, which makes sense given how career-driven she was on the show. In fact, it played a role in her divorce from Philippe Pautesta-Herder, who she wed in Season 1.
Patton told Wetpaint about their 2012 divorce (via HuffPost), "I'm all about work, work, work, work, and I put my work first, and it just didn't gel. We were in two different places, but we still love each other. He comes to all our family and holiday functions, we talk all the time, and we work together, but as a married couple, I wasn't a good wife for him and he wasn't the right husband for me."
Marysol Patton's mother passed away
Marysol Patton brought her mother, Elsa, along for her Real Housewives Of Miami journey, and she instantly became a Bravo icon. Sadly, Elsa died in 2019 at the age of 84 years old, with a family statement to Page Six revealing that she died after battling a "long illness."
For those who aren't familiar, Elsa considered herself to be a "'seer,' not a psychic," as relayed in Marysol's Bravo bio."She's a hot commodity amongst A-listers looking for spiritual guidance," it added. Along with this unique job description, it was her one-liners that made her a beloved Bravolebrity. After appearing on RHOM, Elsa got her own show, called Havana Elsa, which documented her foray into the coffee business.
After her passing, Andy Cohen gave her a loving tribute on Watch What Happens Live. "Throughout the history of the Real Housewives, we have met many friends and relatives of the wives, but rarely has someone's spirit, humor, and wisdom made such an indelible impression as Elsa's did," the Bravo exec mused. He also admitted on his Instagram Stories (via Reality Blurb) that Mama Elsa getting sick and leaving the show contributed to the show's cancellation.
Clearly, Elsa was a big part of the Bravoverse.
Marysol Patton spends time with other Bravolebrities
Since Real Housewives Of Miami Season 1, a lot has changed for Marysol Patton. But she had a decent enough experience with Bravo to continue to hang out with some of the other women. And not just from Miami, either. On Instagram, there are a ton of pics of Marysol out with Luann de Lesseps from Real Housewives Of New York, including a snap at the Countess' bachelorette party before she married (and promptly divorced) Tom D'Agostino. Another pic shows her with Bravo OG Jill Zarin, attending Luann's cabaret show. She has also hung out with NeNe Leakes from Real Housewives of Atlanta.
As for whether Marysol will ever return to TV, don't expect it to happen on RHOM. Andy Cohen revealed per his Instagram Stories (via Reality Blurb) that the show is done for good, pointing to the final season's poor ratings, which dropped going into the reunion. But don't weep for Marysol's life post-reality TV, as she's doing just fine these days.
