The Real Reason Morgan Stewart Got Divorced
Rich Kids of Beverly Hills alums Morgan Stewart and Brendan Fitzpatrick wed in May of 2016 in a lavish ceremony fit for, well, a couple of rich kids. E! News reported that the two said their I do's in front of 150 of their nearest and dearest at the luxe Hummingbird Ranch on the outskirts of Los Angeles. And of course, in true reality television fashion, the nuptials were filmed for all of their fans. Trust us, we watched it, and the ceremony was beautiful. However, the wedded bliss didn't last very long, and sadly Stewart filed for divorce in October of 2019, citing irreconcilable differences, as reported by Radar Online.
The reality stars, who first got engaged in 2015 after a few years of dating, had hoped to spend their lives together. So what went so wrong for the match made for reality television? Is E!s golden girl possibly to blame for the demise of the marriage? Keep reading to learn how the high-profile split all went down.
Morgan Stewart faced cheating accusations
Morgan Stewart suddenly found herself in a scandal when in March 2019, sources claimed to Page Six that she had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with her also married boss, NBC Universal executive Bryce Kristensen. One source alleged that the human resources department was alerted to the supposed relationship, and insiders claim they first noticed suspicious behavior in late 2016 when Stewart and Fitzpatrick should've still been enjoying their time as newlyweds. "[Morgan] would throw her arms around [Bryce] in conference room meetings," alleged one insider. "She would even throw up her legs on his desk, as well as on his legs."
A rep for E! News did not confirm or deny that an internal investigation into the alleged affair took place, telling Page Six, "E! takes all allegations of inappropriate behavior seriously, investigates accordingly and takes appropriate action." Kristensen, who left the company in 2019, also denied the chatter. "Morgan and I have been friends and colleagues for years, and nothing more than that," he shared with the outlet.
Stewart, who hadn't announced the divorce yet, responded to Page Six, "Bryce and I have known each other since the beginning of my career and have been nothing more than friends and colleagues. I look forward to moving past these hurtful rumors and innuendo. As for Brendan and I, we remain happily married."
Morgan Stewart's reason for the breakup is tame
After declaring that she and husband Brendan Fitzpatrick were happily married, Morgan Stewart filed for divorce in October 2019 and listed the separation date as April 6, 2019. The separation date occurred one month after cheating rumors surfaced, Radar Online noted. Coincidence? Maybe not.
Either way, Stewart took to Instagram in August 2019 and finally addressed the whisperings of an impending divorce, and denied anything salacious had occurred in the marriage. "I wanted to take the time to clarify that our reason for separating has nothing to do with anything other than two people who sadly grew apart, deciding what's best for themselves in the next phase of their lives," Stewart penned, per People. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the extremely heartfelt and supportive messages so many of you have sent."
Stewart has since found love with Jordan McGraw, aka Dr. Phil's son, and they got engaged in July 2020, E! News confirmed. Congratulations to the newly engaged couple!
