The Truth About Annie LeBlanc And Hayden Summerall's Relationship
Annie LeBlanc and Hayden Summerall are both forces to be reckoned with. When the two teens collaborate on music or star opposite one another on the hit show Chicken Girls, their fans can't get enough.
In 2008, LeBlanc made a name for herself when her family started posting her gymnastics videos on YouTube. In 2010, LeBlanc started appearing alongside her siblings, Hayley and Caleb, on their family's vlog channel, Bratayley. Unfortunately, in 2019, the LeBlanc family posted a video titled "The End of an Era," in which they explained that the family wouldn't be posting weekly vlogs for the foreseeable future. Instead, LeBlanc will be focused on her solo career.
Meanwhile, Summerall rose to fame after he covered hit songs on his YouTube channel, including "Boyfriend" by Justin Bieber and "Can't Feel My Face" by The Weeknd. In 2017, Summerall and LeBlanc's cover of "Little Do You Know" by Alex & Sierra went viral and, as of this writing, has over 57 millon views. Talk about a dynamic duo!
LeBlanc first met Summerall after they had dinner with other YouTubers, including JoJo Siwa, Rebecca Zamolo, and Matt Slays in Los Angeles in 2017, per J-14 magazine. From there, their friendship blossomed. However, fans quickly took note of their chemistry and hoped they would become an item at some point. So, are Summerall and LeBlanc just friends or something more? We investigate below.
Annie LeBlanc said Hayden Summerall's 'friendship is important to [her]'
After meeting in 2017, Annie LeBlanc and Hayden Summerall couldn't help but flaunt their new friendship all over the internet. For instance, Summerall helped promote LeBlanc's "Ordinary Girl" music video in 2017. "This girl is so much better than Ordinary, So you should go watch her new music vid 'Ordinary Girl' right now on her YouTube??" he wrote (via J-14 magazine).
In 2018, LeBlanc gushed about her bond with Summerall. "His friendship is important to me because we have a lot of fun together," she told YSBnow. "Whenever I am around him, I am smiling, so that is really important to me. And I don't want to lose that friendship."
LeBlanc even noted that Summerall "has, like, a different side to himself" sometimes. "When it's, like, 1 a.m. in the morning and he just, you know, been playing Xbox, he just gets so hyper. Like, he calls himself, like, a silly goose. It's the craziest thing ever!" she exclaimed. "You're like is this really Hayden? And it's the funniest side of him, like, when he's, like, super, beyond tired. He gets into this mood and he just, like, starts, like, making these weird faces, and jumps around. It's crazy. It's like, you have to see it one day."
Did Hayden Summerall cheat on Annie LeBlanc?
On their hit show Chicken Girls, Annie LeBlanc and Hayden Summerall's characters end up dating. Of course, fans have been shipping LeBlanc and Summerall in real life, too. So much so, they even came up with their couple's name — "Hannie," per J-14. While neither LeBlanc nor Summerall has ever confirmed they were an item, there's speculation that Summerall cheated on LeBlanc with another girl in 2017.
According to Distractify, Summerall and Maddie Ziegler's sister, Kenzie Ziegler, "may have dated," and thus stirred the pot with LeBlanc. In 2017, Summerall and LeBlanc were supposedly dating, but after a Snapchat video was posted where Summerall seemingly told Kenzie he loved her, the clip went viral. As a result, fans accused Summerall of not being loyal to LeBlanc, but, per Distractify, "Kenzie later confirmed that the video was taken out of context..." Alledgedly, Summerall was "telling one of their friends that he loved them" — not Kenzie. Summerall and the Dance Moms alum maintained they were just friends the whole time.
Summerall also denied that he was dating LeBlanc to begin with. "Nobody knows my life ... everyone just assumes I'm dating someone ... everyone assumes I breakup when they really don't know if I was dating in the first place," he reportedly wrote on Instagram in 2018. "I'm not dating ANYONE."
Have Annie LeBlanc and Hayden Summerall gone their separate ways?
Annie LeBlanc hasn't posted a photo with Hayden Summerall on her Instagram page in quite some time. Instead, LeBlanc has posted pictures with another guy: Asher Angel. After LeBlanc starred in Angel's music video "Chemistry" in 2018, the two struck up a romance, which they didn't confirm until May 2019.
Unfortunately, in May 2020, the pair called it quits. "It's no ones [sic] fault, especially not his. He treated me exactly the way a girl should be treated ..." LeBlanc wrote on her Instagram Story (via J-14 magazine). Angel seemingly added his own statement via Instagram, writing, "You know you really love someone when you can't hate them for breaking your heart."
Around time of the breakup, the former flames hadn't seen each other in "75 days" due to Covid-19 restrictions, which certainly didn't help their relationship. "And we're young, you know, we're teenagers, so, you know, we were seeing each other every other day and all of a sudden, that's just taken away from us. That was super hard," Angel told Entertainment Tonight in May 2020. Meanwhile, Summerall is rumored to be dating Instagram star Bella Faith, but she hasn't posted a photo with Summerall since November 2019.
As of this writing, it seems like LeBlanc is single, so who knows what the future holds for her and Summerall. Will they give it another shot (if they ever dated to begin with, that is)? Only time will tell.
