When she's not spam-calling her 90 Day Fiancé love interest for his whereabouts or facing accusations of being a gold-digger, Anfisa Nava is busy digging her way into a healthier lifestyle and breaking the internet with her new figure. The Season 4 star — who came from Russia hoping to find a better life with her husband Jorge Nava in the United States — ended up alone as her husband faced a two-and-a-half-year prison sentence for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
It's clear Anfisa has spent the time while Jorge was behind bars in productive ways. About halfway through Jorge's prison sentence, according to Cheat Sheet, the pair decided to call it quits on their marriage. "I wanted to put our issues aside and stay by his side and support him in this difficult situation," Anfisa explained to In Touch. "However, the whole time I felt like I had a weight on my shoulders that wouldn't let me be happy. I knew I had to end it and it would be better for the both of us, so Jorge and I talked about it and mutually decided to part ways a few months ago and agreed to divorce once he's released."
In the rollercoaster of her failed relationship, though, Anfisa told fans she took time to "heal" herself. "People grow apart sometimes, it doesn't mean the relationship wasn't genuine from the start," she explained. Nowadays, she really does seem to be living her best life, including looking after her health.
Anfisa Nava shed pounds thanks to portion sizes
Perhaps as part of that healing process, Anfisa Nava poured her energy into maintaining a healthier lifestyle. The Russian reality television star turned into an Instagram fitness model through hard work — approximately 26 pounds' worth, according to People. Anfisa, who dropped from 140 to 126 pounds and gained muscle in the process, revealed her fitness and diet regime. In addition to religious cardio on the elliptical or the treadmill (which she said she did five or six times a week for 30-40 minutes), the star also made sure to eat right, saying she "just reduced her portion size."
Based on her Instagram photos documenting her fitness journey, Anfisa's meals are plant- and meat-heavy, like many other bodybuilders. A few snapshots of her meals show chicken with vegetables like tomatoes and zucchini, as well as brown rice, asparagus, beef, beans, and more.
In one caption, she described her daily intake when she's doing meal prep. Anfisa begins her day with oatmeal pancakes, which she said were her "favorite breakfast lately." The breakfast is incomplete without sides like turkey slices, egg whites, cashew queso, guacamole, and pico de gallo. She favors chicken thighs over chicken breasts, which can come out "dry and tasteless," and pairs them with veggies and a starch, like rice. Her dinners include ground beef with jasmine rice, beans, and vegetables. And for a snack that puts our quarantine bags of Doritos to shame, she throws together a simple salad.
