Strange Things About Denise Richards' Marriage
Although actor Denise Richards may be well-known for her tumultuous marriage to Charlie Sheen (that ultimately ended in divorce in 2006), it's her most recent marriage to Aaron Phypers that has made headlines in 2020. The relationship first came under the microscope with her debut on Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" Season 9, but curiosity really revved up in April 2020 with the premiere of Season 10. Now it's clear her second marriage may become tabloid fodder... but not for the reasons viewers might think.
But what's strange about this pairing is how quickly it evolved between "RHOBH" seasons, as Denise initially didn't shy away from gabbing about her marriage. From revealing how active their sex life is to their steamy first encounter, she did not hold back. However, by Season 10, she was tight-lipped and arguably defensive about her personal life. So what happened?
We're not sure what made Denise flip the script, but we do have a few curious things to share about her marriage to Aaron.
Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers' wedding was rushed
Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers wed in Malibu, California on September 8, 2018, during a casual outdoor ceremony, according to Us Weekly. Although an outdoor wedding may be common for many couples, having a professional camera crew in attendance to capture the special day for an episode of reality television is not as common. But what definitely sticks out about the nuptials is how they planned the day within a very short time frame. "24 hours to make a wedding dress?" the designer Mark Zunino joked on Instagram about rushing to make Denise's gown. "NO PROBLEM!!"
Oh, and did we mention the whole affair got pulled off in two days? "[Aaron] really wanted to marry on Sept. 8 because eight means infinity," Denise told People about why the couple rushed things. "We called [wedding planner] Mindy Weiss and she did it less than 48 hours and it was beautiful."
Denise caught some flak for her quick planning and decision to have the wedding televised, but she defended her choices on Instagram. "We decided if we got married during filming we would allow @bravotv to capture our wedding," she explained. "My thoughts were if I'm going to be part of a reality show I need to keep it real [and] show that part of my life even though it's a personal moment in our life."
Denise Richards hooked up with Aaron Phypers at his work
Denise Richards revealed during a February 2019 episode of "RHOBH" that the pair met at Aaron Phypers' place of work, Quantum 360, and soon after, things got STEAMY. "So, I met him at his center doing DNA repair, anti-aging, and that sort of thing," she revealed, per Women's Health. "Then, one time we had sex in one of his rooms. We've been inseparable ever since." She added, "There were no clients there. I want to make that very clear."
According to Aaron's business website, the center "is designed to foster optimal health in mind, body, and spirit, bringing ultimate health to our members. Ailments and disease are caused by imbalances in our bodies." The center also offers "full-body scans and analysis" that supposedly provides pertinent information to treat a myriad of injuries and illnesses. Hmm.
We're not sure about what Aaron's company does, but it's clear Denise is glowing from the inside out these days!
Wait, are Denise Richards and Aaron Phypers being followed?
Just when you thought Aaron Phypers and Denise Richards' relationship couldn't get more intriguing, they claimed during an April 2020 episode of "RHOBH" that they are sometimes followed, presumably by "Big Pharma." It all went down during a cast dinner party when fellow cast member Kyle Richards pressed Aaron to explain what his work actually entails. In response, Aaron delivered a long-winded speech about his work in holistic medicine. "Everything you've been taught about how diseases process and stuff works is not true," he said, per People. "I have to be careful." How ominous! Denise then pleaded with her husband to keep mum in front of the other guests, saying, "We already have people following us, be careful."
In a follow-up interview, Denise further reiterated her claims about being followed. "Aaron has a job where people get tremendous results and sometimes certain organizations don't like to see those results because they make a lot of money otherwise," she shared. "And there's times we're followed."
So, are powerful pharmaceutical companies really after Phypers? Or are the cars supposedly tailing them part of Bravo's film crew? The world may never know.
Aaron Phypers was married to Nicollette Sheridan
Some fans might be surprised to learn that Aaron Phypers was once married to another actor, Nicollette Sheridan. But unfortunately, the union didn't last very long, as the couple married in December 2015, and split in June 2016, according to People. Their divorce got finalized in August 2018, one month before Denise Richards and Aaron tied the knot.
The story doesn't end there, though. During an episode of "RHOBH" in Season 9, Lisa Rinna revealed that her husband, Harry Hamlin, also used to be married to the "Desperate Housewives" star. Lisa went on to accuse Sheridan of abruptly ending the marriage to Hamlin after a whirlwind encounter with singer Michael Bolton.
Shortly after the episode aired, Sheridan took to Twitter to slam Lisa. "FAKE NEWS! Harry and I ended our marriage nose to nose in Canada...Michael was a long time friend that was invited to our wedding," she wrote. "Happy Harry found happiness with housewife."
Hamlin snapped back, "Re Fake News! What's it called when your wife of one year suddenly goes to bed with a pop singer? ...two weeks after your mother dies?? I did a lotta stuff with my wife 'nose to nose' but ending our marriage was not one of them!"
Although Denise wasn't involved in this drama, all of the connections here are arguably a tad odd. It's a small world, indeed!
Aaron Phypers shoots a lot of Denise Richards' OnlyFans content
The world gasped when Denise Richards announced she would be joining OnlyFans in June 2022 after her daughter Sami Sheen revealed she would be posting on the adult site. After all, Richards has been a sex symbol since breaking out as an actor in the '90s. While it's not strange for celebrities to hop on the OnlyFans train these days, what's a bit offputting is having your spouse take pictures and videos for other people to enjoy. Richards revealed on Jeff Lewis' SiriusXM show that she does take racy photos that show off her body and that her husband Aaron Phypers helps her with her posts (via Page Six). "Aaron takes a lot of my content for me. He knows what guys like. I ask him, I show him things and say, 'What do you think?'"
Despite him being open to sharing his wife with her OnlyFans subscribers and Richards admitting to having allowed him a "happy ending" massage, Richards insists she and Phypers only have eyes for each other. A fan apparently asked on her Instagram post if the couple saw other people, perhaps alluding to the alleged affair between Richards and Brandi Glanville. The "Wild Things" star firmly stated, "Absolutely not. [100%] monogamous to my husband." In another reply, she insisted, "We actually don't have an open marriage."
