The Truth About Colton Underwood And Madison Prewett's Relationship
It's always fun when members of Bachelor Nation get together organically after they've wrapped their respective seasons. Case in point: After Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe split from Shawn Booth, she found love with Jason Tartick, who competed for Becca Kufrin's heart on The Bachelorette in 2018. Not to mention, Victoria Fuller from Peter Weber's season and former Bachelor star Chris Soules formed a bond in quarantine and now are dating, as Us Weekly confirmed in May 2020.
Now, Colton Underwood and Madison Prewett are making headlines ever since the two got a little flirty on Instagram in June 2020, per Us Weekly. Colton announced his split from Cassie Randolph in May 2020, per People, and Madison cut ties with Peter after they couldn't make their relationship work in March 2020. "Believe me, this was not easy for either of us to be okay with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us," Peter wrote on Instagram at the time.
So, should we be coming up with a couples name for Colton and Madi right away, or is it too soon to tell? Let's dive into their relationship. (For the record, we like #Coldi or #Madon.)
Colton Underwood and Madison Prewett bonded over faith
Not only have Colton Underwood and Madison Prewett both competed on Bachelor franchise shows, but the two have another thing in common: their faith. On June 17, 2020, Madison posted a video of herself talking about FaithSocial — "an online Christian community with believers from all different faith backgrounds coming together" — on Instagram. In response, Colton wrote, "Amen!" in the comments section, per Cosmopolitan.
A few days later, the former football player posted a photo of himself sipping coffee on the beach, where he wrote about how "listening to God is so vital for your well-being." Clearly, the post caught Madi's eye as she replied, "So good," in the comments section, according to Cosmo.
In fact, Madi made it clear that religion is very important to her when it comes to being in a relationship. "I would say my No. 1 thing, obviously, would be faith for me," she told Us Weekly when asked what she's looking for in a partner. "That's going to be something that's a make or break."
Meanwhile, Colton revealed he has been able to lean into his faith amid the coronavirus pandemic. "I think this has sort of provided some insight and opportunity for me to really just grow even more in my faith and my walk with God," he told Today in April 2020.
Colton Underwood is newly single — and so is Madison Prewett
It certainly sounds like Madison Prewett and Colton Underwood have a lot in common, and their timing might be fortuitous. Colton announced his split from Cassie Randolph in May 2020. "It's been a crazy few months to say the least. Cass and I have been doing a lot of self-reflecting," he wrote via Instagram. "Sometimes people are just meant to be friends — and that's okay."
"We both have grown immensely and been through so much together — so this isn't the end of our story, it's the start of a whole new chapter for us," he added.
Meanwhile, Madison was put through the ringer during Peter Weber's Bachelor season. Madison broke up with Peter after revealing she couldn't stay with him if he was intimate in the fantasy suite with the other two remaining contestants. Peter ended up proposing to Hannah Ann Sluss, but they later broke up since he still had feelings for Madison.
Peter and Madison made an appearance during After the Final Rose, where they told Chris Harrison they were going to give their relationship another shot, but unfortunately, things didn't work out and they split for good in March 2020. Now, Madi is looking for "someone who knows who he is and knows his purpose," she told Us Weekly. "Someone who shares just similar, I guess, passions to make the world a better place and to help out and add value wherever he can."
Madison Prewett and Colton Underwood got candid about virginity on television
When Colton Underwood appeared as the Bachelor in 2019, there was only one thing talked about — his virginity. Per Cosmopolitan, Colton explained during Becca Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette that he never had sex before because he "spent a lot of time working on football Colton and [he] sort of forgot who personal Colton was."
The reality star was also adamant that just because he was a virgin, "doesn't mean you can't have a good time," as he told People in 2018. "It doesn't mean you can't be passionate and romantic and sexual still in your relationship." Later on, Colton hinted in his book, The First Time, that he did the deed while filming The Bachelor, Page Six reported.
Meanwhile, Madison Prewett got candid about why she was saving herself for marriage to Peter Weber on The Bachelor — something she wasn't always eager to discuss. "That's a very intimate and vulnerable thing to open up about," she told FemeStella.com in April 2020. "I wasn't just discussing [that commitment] with Peter, but I was inviting millions of people into that vulnerable place."
She added, "I wanted to really feel it out and make sure I felt comfortable, I felt safe in the environment, like it was the right time, the right moment, to really go there."
Well, it's safe to say Madi and Colton may just be a match made in Bachelor heaven.
