The Untold Truth Of Ink Master Star Daniel Silva
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to TMZ on May 11, 2020, that Ink Master star Daniel Silva (pictured below) has been arrested and charged with murder. Silva, who appeared on Season 10 of the reality TV competition series, was the alleged driver of a McLaren 600LT sports car that "crashed into a street sign and a tree" in LA on May 10, 2020, killing passenger Corey La Barrie, a YouTube star, the outlet reported. La Barrie had celebrated his 25th birthday that same day.
Police claim Silva tried to leave the scene of the accident but was stopped by witnesses who came to help. He was then hospitalized to treat a broken hip, TMZ reported, while La Barrie died of his injuries at the hospital.
The LAPD classified the incident as a "DUI fatal traffic collision," but its statement didn't expand on any allegations against Silva. As of this writing, the tattoo artist is being held in jail on $200,000 bail, per Deadline.
As details about this tragic event unfold, questions about the background of Silva continue to emerge. Join as we fill in the blanks below.
Daniel Silva launched a new YouTube series
As we noted earlier, Daniel Silva first appeared on Ink Master Season 10, which premiered in 2018 and featured three teams of six tattoo artists. Each team was led by a past Ink Master winner, and Silva was Anthony Michaels' team, the winner of Ink Master Season 7. Silva had three years of tattooing experience at the time, and although he won "Best Tattoo of the Day" in challenge two, he was eliminated in the 12th round. The San Francisco native also appeared on the spin-off, Ink Master: Angels.
Since appearing on Ink Master, Silva launched a YouTube series in 2020 called "Tat Talks," the "first-ever show where we interview celebrities, athletes, and influencers while they get tattooed." The last celeb Silva hosted on his show was Teen Mom OG's Cory Wharton, who got a tattoo of his oldest daughter's face.
A profile published by International Business Times in 2019 also noted how Daniel had "recently started his own university which is the first-ever tattoo tutorial course," which includes "courses for beginners, intermediate experts, photography and social media."
The outlet added that the former reality star is a "travel junkie" who "loves to roam around places."
Sadly, Daniel Silva isn't the only tattoo artist and reality star who has faced legal trouble — Ink Master star Chris Blinston was arrested for allegedly choking his young daughter back in 2017.
