The Truth About Floyd Mayweather's Daughter YaYa
Professional boxer Floyd Mayweather is dad to four kids: sons Zion Shamaree and Koraun and daughters Jirah and Iyanna, also known as YaYa. Entrepreneur Melissa Brim, who owns her own boutique, is YaYa's mother. Zion, Koraun and Jirah's mother was Floyd's ex Josie Harris. Harris was found dead inside her car on March 10, 2020. She was 40 years old, per TMZ.
YaYa, who turns 20 on May 20, 2020, made headlines in April 2020 for all the wrong reasons. In the early morning hours on April 4, 2020, the teen allegedly barged into on-again-off-again boyfriend NBA YoungBoy's Houston home and found him there with his baby mama, LaPattra Lashai Jacobs. After telling the young woman that she was the rapper's fiancée, YaYa reportedly told Jacobs to get out of the house. When Jacobs refused, YaYa grabbed two knives from the kitchen and stabbed her, per TMZ.
Jacobs was taken to the hospital, while YaYa was taken into custody. TMZ obtained her mugshot. In it, Floyd's eldest daughter is seen rocking purple hair and no makeup.
Floyd Mayweather's daughter may end up behind bars
YaYa Mayweather was released soon after her arrest, on $30,000 bond, per The Blast. On the day of her release, April 4, 2020, YaYa popped up on NBA YoungBoy's Instagram Story, according to Hollywood Life. Then, on April 6, 2020, she made another appearance on his Instagram Story. This time, she was seen "relaxing in his bed."
After YaYa's arrest, YoungBoy — whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden — posted an angry rant on Instagram Live about Kodak Black, in which he bashed Kodak for allegedly saying that YoungBoy cooperated with police after the incident. He also called YaYa his "wife," as she stood behind him in front of the camera. As of this writing, YaYa hasn't publicly addressed the attack. According to The Blast, she could face up to 99 years in prison for her crime.
Floyd Mayweather has not spoken out about his eldest daughter's scandal. However, on April 6, 2020, he seemed to respond to the backlash over YaYa's behavior with an Instagram post of him boxing with son Koraun. "Never claimed to be perfect, but I strive to be the best father possible. #DaddyDuties @kingkoraun," he captioned the video.
YaYa Mayweather's staying quiet after the attack
There have been mixed reports about LaPattra Lashai Jacobs' condition following the attack. While some outlets reported that she had to undergo surgery, others noted that she was "transported to the hospital in stable condition."
After YaYa Mayweather stabbed her at At NBA YoungBoy's house, Jacobs broke her silence about the incident on Instagram."No i'm not okay. I'm really f****d up in the head and I hate to say it. Can y'all just leave me alone?" she wrote on her Instagram Story, according to Hot97.
YaYa has not spoken about the attack, however, her mother, Melissa Brim, showed support for her daughter in an Instagram video of them walking hand-in-hand. "Got your back FOREVER," she wrote.
Meanwhile, Jacobs' mother told haters via Instagram not to talk about her daughter anymore, according to Ace Showbiz. "Can y'all hating press as w***e's do me a favor and stop worrying about LaPattra La'shai and s**k her *** and s**k YoungBoy **** and let me see to my child," she reportedly wrote.
YaYa Mayweather has always loved the spotlight
Floyd Mayweather's eldest daughter is proud of her celebrity status, and flaunts it whenever she can. Her Instagram name is moneyyaya, and in her posts, she makes sure to show off her lavish lifestyle. For Christmas 2019, the pro boxer gifted YaYa Mayweather a Mercedes-Benz G Wagon worth over $150,000, according to TVOM. Floyd even posted the gift on his Instagram. "MERRY CHRISTMAS @moneyyaya," he wrote in the caption. He also gifted her a Mercedes three years prior for her 16th birthday, TVOM reported.
YaYa grew up in the spotlight and seems to thrive in it. As fans may know, she is an aspiring rapper, and even released a song and music video under the name Money Yaya. She was also the subject of one of NBA YoungBoy's tracks. When the celebs (temporarily) broke up in late 2019, YoungBoy released a diss track aimed at YaYa titled "Dirty Iyanna" — a nod to Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana," per The Source.
That being said, YaYa didn't seem too mad about it considering the fact that in December 2019, she shared a photo of herself on Instagram with the caption, " DIRTY IYANNA." She and YoungBoy rekindled their romance soon after, and now that YaYa is in deep trouble with the law, her boyfriend insists on calling her his "wife," while she continues to call him her "fiancé" on social media.
