The Untold Truth Of Christy McGinity
Little Women: L.A. star Christy McGinity has had her fair share of ups and downs. Most recently in March 2020, she lost her 2-week-old daughter unexpectedly, according to People. The reality show star and her boyfriend, Gonzalo Justo Carazo, welcomed Violet Eva on March 6, 2020, about seven weeks early from her due date. She measured 15 inches long and weighed just 3 lbs., 15 oz. On March 20, 2020, just 14 days later, their daughter died.
"It is with our deepest sorrow that we send our baby girl Violet Eva Carazo to play with the angels," the couple told People.
"We were able to spend two weeks with our sweet baby girl and for that we are forever thankful," McGinity and Carazo added. "Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated."
Several days after McGinity and Carazo said goodbye to their daughter, they shared with Today how they were doing. "We are so grateful for the outpouring of love we've received," they said. "We need all the prayers right now. Missing our girl more and more each day."
McGinity had a rough third trimester, leading up to her daughter's premature birth, per Today. In February 2020, she started feeling contractions and posted on Instagram asking everyone for prayers. "She is not ready," she posted.
Amid this tragedy, some fans are curious to learn more about McGinity's life before she welcomed Violet.
Christy McGinity's love life has had a few bumps
Before meeting Gonzalo Justo Carazo, Christy McGinity married Todd Gibel (pictured left) in 2014. The reality star had the union dissolved in March 2020, as she was reportedly eager to close that chapter and have her legal name returned to her maiden name before she gave birth, per TMZ.
McGinity, who has two children (Autumn Taylor, pictured center, and Trenton) from a different relationship, filed a restraining order against Gibel several months before the dissolution of the marriage, People reported. She alleged he impersonated her over email and locked her out of her social media accounts.
"Christy is looking forward to mov[ing] to a place of healing and safety – first and foremost – for herself and her daughter Autumn," her spokesperson told People in 2019. "Allegations have been made by Todd that are largely fabricated, per Christy, and she's taking the steps necessary to find a means to an end." Gibel was forced to move out of their shared residence due to the restraining order, People reported.
Nicki Swift wishes McGinity and Carazo well during this difficult time.
