'RHOC' Star Heather Dubrow's Family Just Grew By 2
Everyone could use a little good news as they shelter in place due to the coronavirus, and luckily, former Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow has just the thing — two adorable new puppies. Of course, all puppies are adorable, but Heather's two adopted fur babies, George and Roxy, seem especially sweet.
Heather announced the adoption on Instagram in early April 2020, complete with a family photo shoot, including shots of the pups in her four kids' arms. Maximillia, Katerina, Nicholas, and Collette seem overjoyed in the pics to have two new little furry friends in the house.
The reality star captioned the shoot, "Thank you so much to @wagmorpets @theellenshow @jfusel for helping us meet these two angels. If you've ever thought about adopting or fostering an animal, the time is NOW. You need them as much as they need you!" Her husband, Botched star Dr. Terry Dubrow, was also really excited about the newest additions to the family.
The Dubrow family adores their new dogs
Terry Dubrow posted about the new dogs on his Instagram as well. He shared some of the same pics with the puppies and the kids with the caption, "How is everyone? Me? I'm ok. Just chillin' w/the family and the rescues. Hang in there everyone. The sun will be out very soon. Promise," referencing the shelter in place guidelines put in place due to coronavirus.
This isn't the first time that the Dubrow family has adopted puppies either. Back in 2014, the Dubrows announced the addition of two rescued Goldendoodles to their family. That time, they came from one of Terry's patients, according to Bravo. Oscar and Champs were fraternal twins, which was sort of perfect given that Nicholas and Maximillia are also fraternal twins.
Heather said at the time, "Terry and I have rescued many animals in our lives. These particular dogs came to us through a patient of Terry's who is a wonderful reputable breeder and NOT a puppy mill. We are very blessed to have them." She added that she knew some fans might have issues with her adopting the Goldendoodles from a breeder, as opposed to adopting from a shelter, but her kids met them and "just fell in love."
Heather Dubrow's dogs are living the good life
However fans may feel about adopting her first two puppies from a breeder, they will likely be happy to hear that Roxy and George came from a shelter. Also, it's not like Heather Dubrow doesn't have more than enough time to cuddle and take care of them properly. That's not to say that she doesn't stay busy, of course.
Since leaving RHOC back in 2016, Heather has been staying active with her podcast, Heather Dubrow's World; her podcast with Terry, Dr. and Mrs. Guinea Pig; an Evite web series called Celebrate With Heather; and helping run her and Terry's skincare line, Consult Beaute. The couple also published a book, The Dubrow Diet: Interval Eating to Lose Weight and Feel Ageless, in 2018.
Just don't expect her to show up on RHOC anytime soon... even if there are some spots to fill now that Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson have left the show. Heather told Entertainment Tonight that the show took a toll on her and Terry's marriage, and they're in a much better spot without the cameras in their house. "We were just fighting a lot and it wasn't like us. It was the show and so it came to a head."
And who needs cameras and drama when there are four adorable puppies to take care of anyway?
Heather Dubrow's kids really love the dogs, too
Not only are the dogs a sight for isolated eyes, but the Instagram pictures of Heather Dubrow's kids are a pretty rare tweet for the reality star's followers. Twins Nicholas and Maximillia are known for being a bit camera shy, and her two daughters, Collette and Katarina have to fully approve whatever their famous mom posts — at least, as far as they're concerned.
That being said, the puppies must have been worth making an appearance on their mom's Instagram account since one of the last times Dubrow shared pics of her twins, which happened to be on their first day of school in August 2019, the twins made her take the photo down, per Bravo. The same month, Dubrow took to Instagram to share a shot of her daughters, Collette and Katarina, on their first day of school, too. Clearly, they were more comfortable with the world seeing their faces.
Dubrow captioned the photo, "Wishing these two amazing kids (in their SANCTIONED photo...) an incredible, happy, successful and FUN year at their new school! #3rdgrade #7thgrade."
Knowing how hard it is to get a family pic featuring Dubrow's kids approved for the 'gram makes the puppy glamour shots all the sweeter.
