Here's How Intense Kourtney & Kim's Physical Fight Really Was
Keeping Up With the Kardashians viewers are still reeling from that brawl between Kourtney and Kim Kardashian. Eighteen seasons into this show, and there's actually a lot more drama to "keep up with" than ever before. Long gone are the days of Kim swinging her purse around telling her sisters "don't be f***ing rude." That was a much simpler time.
The incident from the March 26, 2020 episode was on a whole other level. That episode ended with a "to be continued" cliffhanger and the drama only intensified the following week on April 2. All the drama resulted from Kim questioning Kourtney's work ethic... again. Kourtney got offended, like she usually does. However, the rest of their confrontation was far from business as usual.
The verbal disagreement turned into a physical altercation between Kim and Kourtney, as Khloé Kardashian tried to intervene and Kendall Jenner sat there in shock. No one can blame Kendall for that, though — there was just so much to take in. Kourtney grabbed Kim's legs, Kim kicked Kourtney, and they both hit each other. Meanwhile, Khloé innocently reminded them that her daughter True Thompson was taking a nap.
As wild as it was to watch, the fight was even more intense than what the fans got to see.
Kim Kardashian was bleeding after Kourtney Kardashian scratched her
This KUWTK fight happened so fast that it was tough to keep track of every punch, slap, kick, and scratch. As brutal as it seemed on-screen, Kim Kardashian insisted that the incident was actually even more intense. During a March 30 appearance on The Tonight Show, Kim shared, "She scratched me so hard, which you guys didn't see." She also remarked, "I was bleeding. And so, you didn't really get to see that detail."
That being said, there were a lot of other eye-catching aspects to that fight that viewers did see. For instance, Kourtney Kardashian literally slapped the bronzer off of Kim's face and onto their sister Khloé Kardashian's wall.
The reality TV veteran also mentioned the scratches during a March 31 interview on The View. Kim said at the time, "I think what people didn't see is I had all these scratches. Like, I was bleeding. Once I look and I realize what had happened, I just saw red." Things certainly got out of hand, and Kim admitted on The View, "I hated that we had to get to that point."
'Keeping Up With The Kardashsians' shut down filming for a week
While she was on The View, Kim Kardashian shared, "We actually had to shut down production for a week after that, because everyone was just so shook." Subsequently, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian hashed out their differences during that break away from the cameras.
On the April 2 episode of KUWTK, Kim told Khloé Kardashian and Scott Disick that she and Kourtney talked for "about an hour." Kim claimed that Kourtney told her, "I was having a nervous breakdown. I feel like I just lost it. I'm sorry. It should never get physical." They squashed their drama right before traveling to Armenia with their kids.
However, that production shutdown will not be Kourtney's only break from filming. In November 2019, Kourtney announced her plan to step back from the show. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she shared "I just decided to spend more time as a mom and put more of my energy there, but I'm not saying goodbye."
And if it comes down to it, both Kim and Khloé think the show can continue if Kourtney quits for good. Or at least that's what they agreed to during that same ET interview... with Kourtney sitting right next to them. Khloé even added, "People come, people go all the time in this family." There really are a lot of people in this family who can film and the number of members just keeps on growing.
Kris Jenner cried when she saw Kourtney & Kim Kardashian fighting
While Khloé Kardashian and Kendall Jenner witnessed the madness in person, Kylie Jenner, Kris Jenner, and Rob Kardashian watched the episode along with everyone else. On The View, Kim shared, "It was just so uncharacteristic of us to really act like that. My mom saw that clip and was crying. She couldn't believe that we were acting like that."
Rob and Kylie both shared their reactions on Twitter. While watching the season premiere, Kylie posted, "well that was CRAZY." Concise, yet accurate. The makeup mogul live tweeted during the following week's episode. Once again, she kept it simple, writing, "those scratches are intense."
On March 26, Rob tweeted, "my sisters forgot we were filming #KUWTK and thought it was bad girls club." As funny as that comparison may be, Rob saying "we were filming" is a stand-out line from that post. Does this mean Rob will have an increased presence on Season 18?
Kourtney Kardashian views the fight with Kim Kardashian as a learning experience
During the April 2 episode, Kourtney Kardashian (ironically) tweeted that she would not tweet about the episode. The mother of three wrote, "I won't be live tweeting #KUWTK tonight, as I'm spending time with my kids while they are on spring break. I realize that a lot of the conversation right now surrounds my work ethic, and I feel like I need to just make one thing clear: raising children is a job as well." That's definitely true: Raising kids is an important job.
Nevertheless, Kourtney has found some good from the explosive moment. On March 26, Kourtney posted on Instagram, "These first two episodes are hard for me to watch but it is in our darker moments that the growth happens. I finally had the courage to change what was no longer bringing me happiness and putting my time and energy into that which is. Choose happiness!"
Most likely, this isn't the end of hearing about the Kim vs. Kourtney drama. But hopefully, it's the last time that these two get physical. Khloé's walls do not need another dose of bronzer.
