Is Princess Beatrice's Wedding Canceled?
Amid the coronavirus outbreak, countless events have been canceled or postponed. Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour announced on March 16, 2020, that this year's Met Gala is postponed indefinitely, while Season 16 of The Bachelorette hasn't begun filming yet, to name a few examples. There's a good chance more events will be scrapped as officials across the United States place restrictions on gatherings and encourage social distancing to contain the virus' spread. These methods are being practiced in many other parts of the globe as well, including the United Kingdom. In fact, the royal family has been impacted by the coronavirus in various ways, and the Queen of England is avoiding the virus at all costs. The 93-year-old even canceled her upcoming events to play it safe, per CNN.
In light of all of the precautions being taken, it's fair to wonder whether Princess Beatrice's May 2020 wedding will also be canceled. We reveal the likelihood of this happening after the jump.
Princess Beatrice's wedding is up in the air
Princess Beatrice's wedding to financier Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is scheduled for May 29, 2020, at St. James' Palace in London. The reception will be held at Queen Elizabeth's gardens at Buckingham Palace, which is interesting considering the Queen has canceled all future garden parties. Although a decision has yet to be made regarding the royal's nuptials as of this writing, a source told People the event "could be postponed" due to the coronavirus and that the details are still being hashed out. It's an unfortunate turn of events for Princess Beatrice, who reportedly had to postpone the bash two separate times because of her dad, Prince Andrew. The Queen's son stepped back from public duties due to his alleged friendship with convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. "The date was changed two times to adjust [around Andrew's scandal]," an insider previously told People. "It will be smaller than the original plan."
It remains to be seen what will happen with Princess Beatrice's wedding, although it's clear her special day is facing extra pressure.
