Beyonce And Jay-Z's Daughter, Blue Ivy, Is Growing Up So Fast
Jay Z and Beyoncé tend to keep their kids away from the public eye and have attempted to keep their twins hidden from the cameras, but their eldest, Blue Ivy Carter, occasionally attends high-profile events with her famous parents. That's just what she did on Mar. 8, 2020, when she showed up to a Los Angeles Lakers game with her father, prompting a collective "Oh my gosh, look how grown up she is!" reaction from the internet.
Blue was 8 years old during her night out with her dad. That's a far cry from the toddler who took the stage with Bey and Jay at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards (pictured above.) "Something about the fact that Blue Ivy is mature enough to be sitting courtside with her legs crossed is sending me," one Twitter user wrote. "It's sending me to the nursing home to be specific because I'm feeling old as hell."
Someone else shared a shot of Blue beside a picture of Beyoncé as a youngster, making it clear that the star's daughter looks a heck of a lot like her mom did once upon a time. That's not the only way these two are similar.
Blue Ivy is slaying some serious style
It's clear that Blue Ivy Carter has inherited Beyoncé's incredible sense of style. Every time the child shows up for an event, she's slaying a headline-making ensemble. In 2016, she hit the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet in a "$10,950 Mischka Aoki dress" (pictured right,) and in 2017, she wore a pink Prince-inspired suit to the Grammy Awards (pictured left.)
This celeb kid's style game is apparently so strong that her parents have fought to trademark her name. According to court documents, obtained by E! News, "Blue Ivy Carter has achieved a significant amount of fame, particularly at such a young age...She also has a noted and well-chronicled interest in fashion" and is "capable of and interested in becoming the face of a brand."
Her fashionable ways were noted once again when she showed up at a Los Angeles Lakers game with Jay-Z in March 2020. Opting for what E! News described as "a casual-chic" look, Blue wore a black t-shirt and matching leggings with a denim jacket that had the words "Blue is my name" on the back. She also donned Fendi combat boots, which will set your kid back about $950 if they want to walk around in Blue Ivy's shoes. And even in those shoes, you still probably won't score a meet-and-greet with one of the Lakers' star players.
Blue Ivy had a chat with LeBron James
As if courtside seats were cool enough, the daughter of Jay-Z and Beyoncé also got a chance to chat with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James following the game.
ESPN shared footage from the interaction. Blue can be seen standing beside her dad while talking with the basketball great, who towers over her. "Toooo stinkin' cute," one social media user tweeted. "Blue Ivy wanted to ask LeBron for a signed basketball. She told her dad to do it for her. He said, no I can't do it, you have to ask. So then she asked him. LeBron told her she would have her signed ball by the time she gets out of school on Monday."
Blue, who smiled throughout the interaction, definitely proved that she's willing and able to hold her own, and this isn't the first time he's shown that she's a force to be reckoned with.

Blue Ivy is making major moves
Beyoncé and Jay Z are obviously both incredibly accomplished entertainers and business moguls, and it looks like they've passed their skills and drive down to their daughter, Blue Ivy. Even though she's still just a kid, this young lady is already making some major moves that are totally noteworthy.
In February 2020, Blue was honored at the 51st NAACP Image Awards for her work on "Brown Skin Girl," a song she recorded with her mother as well as SAINt JHN and WizKiD. Blue was given the award for outstanding duo, group or collaboration.
Beyoncé's mother, Tina Lawson, praised her granddaughter on Instagram, sharing a photo of Blue along with the caption: "Congratulations BLUE IVY on your NAACP award last night for singing and writing on 'Brown Skin Girl' from the Album The Gift. ... The youngest artist to win a major award ... Grandma is soo proud of you ... 8 years old!!!! ... You are giving all the beautiful little brown girls a voice."
The fact that Blue has already accomplished such an amazing feat is surely a sign that we can continue to expect great things from her in the future.
