Elvis Presley's Grandson Looks Exactly Like The Legend
Rock and roll icon Elvis Presley captivated the masses with his timeless hits and signature moves from the peak of his fame in the '50s all the way until his death in 1977. Although the "Jailhouse Rock" crooner was desired by his masses of fans, he ultimately settled down with wife Priscilla Presley (née Beaulieu) with whom he had one child: Lisa Marie Presley.
Unlike her father, Lisa Marie has shied away from the spotlight. However, that doesn't mean she's always been successful in staying out of the public eye. Case in point? The years she was married to Michael Jackson. "I've never been comfortable being front and center, honestly," she told Oprah during an interview in 2010 (via the Huffington Post). "Don't like attention on me. Loved being next to him and taking care of him. I was on such a high doing that ... that it was a very profound time in my life."
Another person that's inherited Lisa Marie's desire for privacy? Her eldest son, Benjamin Keough. Not much is known about Elvis' grandson, but he went viral in 2019 after his mother posted a family photo of him and his siblings. Twitter users immediately began commenting on Keough's resemblance to his grandfather. "Your son is a twin of your Dad," wrote one user. "Nice family!"
Let's take a look at the life of Elvis Presley's grandson, who looks exactly like the music legend.
Elvis Presley's grandson doesn't appear to be on social media
These days, it's easy to keep up with your favorite celebrity if you're following them on social media. In addition to sharing announcements about upcoming projects, most celebs also give followers a peek into their personal lives. With the tap of a finger, you can find out everything from whether or not the celeb has a new tattoo to their current relationship status.
That being said, if someone doesn't have social media — or sets their accounts to private — it becomes increasingly more difficult to keep tabs on them. Case in point? Benjamin Keough. While both his mother and sister, actress and model Riley Keough, have social media accounts, Benjamin doesn't appear to have a social media presence at all, which is probably why we know so little about him. However, while it's clear that Elvis Presley's grandson won't be posting selfies to Instagram anytime soon, his mom's account offers a tease of what it might be like if her son was on social media.
While Lisa Marie Presley's shot of her kids went viral in June 2019, it actually wasn't the first time she had posted a photo that showed off Benjamin's striking resemblance to his grandfather. A year earlier, she had shared two pictures of her and Benjamin. One showed them backstage together at the Grand Ole Opry in 2012. The other shot, also from 2012, was of the two filming Good Morning America.
While we don't know what he's up to now, we do have some insight into Keough's upbringing.
Elvis Presley's grandkids weren't as sheltered as you might think
While Benjamin Keough and his siblings likely had a comfortable upbringing thanks to their mother and the enormous fortune left behind by Elvis Presley, they've still managed to stay quite humble.
"I grew up very privileged with my mother," Benjamin's sister, Riley Keough, dished to The Guardian. "But my dad didn't live like that. And I think experiencing both sides has been helpful. My father had mattresses on the floor of his apartments. He lived in cabins and trailer parks. He just didn't have much money." What's more is that the kids didn't seem mind the lack of luxury when they would visit their father, Danny Keough. "My memories of growing up with him were so colorful and eccentric and fun. It was a good vibe," she revealed.
While it's clear that Riley had a pretty good relationship with her father, it seems that Benjamin might be a bit closer to their mother. In fact, Benjamin and Lisa Marie Presley even got matching tattoos together. When a Twitter user asked Presley about the tattoo on her foot back in 2013, she replied, "It's a Celtic eternity knot that my son and I got together on Mothers day a few years ago,. eternal love and connection:)."
Elvis Presley's grandson might be following in the legend's footsteps
There's no denying the striking resemblance between Benjamin Keough (far right) and Elvis Presley. "He does [look so much like Elvis]! He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage. Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny," Lisa Marie Presley told CMT News in 2012. "Sometimes I am overwhelmed when I look at him."
And it's not just looks that the Graceland heir received from Presley. It seems like Keough might be dusting off his grandfather's blue suede shoes, too. In 2009, the Daily Mail reported that Keough allegedly recorded his first album and was "understood to have signed a £3.3million five-album deal with the record company Universal." However, before die-hard Elvis fans get their hopes up, Universal has reportedly denied those claims, according to Entertainment Weekly."He's doing his own thing right now," Lisa Marie dished to Huffington Post in 2013 about her son's potential singing career. "I'm going to let him decide when he wants to go out and do what he wants to do."
Whether or not Keough is making music still remains a mystery, but he did share one thing with the public during an awards ceremony in 2009. "The music will be nothing like Elvis, nothing like him at all," he said (via The Daily Telegraph). We can't wait.
