Joshua Jackson, Diane Kruger Split After 10 Years
Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger have split after 10 years together, People magazine confirmed on July 18, 2016. A joint-statement said the couple had "decided to separate and remain friends."
No specific reason was given for the breakup. Fans first began to speculate that something might be amiss last week when the actress used the hashtag "a new beginning" to celebrate her 40th birthday on Instagram. "It's my party and I cry if I want to," she wrote.
Kruger and Jackson—who began dating in 2006—reportedly last appeared in public together in February 2016. They bought a place together in New York City in March 2016 and owned homes in Paris and Vancouver, reported People.
Despite a decade-long romance, the couple never wed. Jackson broached the subject in a 2014 interview with Glamour magazine. "I can tell you why we're not married: We're not religious," he said. "I don't feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party. We're both children of divorce, so it's hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you've grown up and are committed to another person. But it may change at some point. We may get married."
In March 2016, Net-a-Porter asked Kruger if she and Jackson planned to tie the knot. "Welcome to my dilemma!" she answered, admitting that moving around the world to accommodate their dual acting careers "was a big step for me, allowing that time for someone else out of my time."
Kruger was previously married for five years to French movie star Guillaume Canet. They split in 2006.
