Amy Schumer: My First Sexual Experience Was Not Consensual
Comedian Amy Schumer has revealed that her first sexual experience was not consensual.
"My first sexual experience was not a good one," the 35-year-old star of Inside Amy Schumer told Marie Claire magazine for its August 2016 cover story. "I didn't think about it until I started reading my journal again. When it happened, I wrote about it almost like a throwaway. It was like, And then I looked down and realized he was inside me. He was saying, 'I'm so sorry' and 'I can't believe I did this.'" Schumer added she has no desire to bring ill-will to that man and that he's no longer in her life. "This was 17 years ago," she said. "There are just so many factors."
She also revealed it was not the only time she had sex without consent. "I had another time with a boyfriend where I was saying, 'No, stop,' and it was just completely ignored."
Schumer said she has since found love with boyfriend Ben Hanisch. Still, she admits being in love sometimes comes with a price tag. "Being in love is the scariest thing in the world," she admits. "You want to f****** cry and scream. I can't handle it. Every time we say goodbye, I think, 'This will have been a nice last week together.' Or I tell myself nothing is real and he's going to leave me and tell me he never loved me. I feel so bad for him. How exhausting it must be dating me."
"I feel like Ben is the first guy who's really been my boyfriend," she added. "There are guys who, if they heard me say that, would want to punch me in the face, but yeah, it's the truth."
Schumer's relationship with Hanisch, a Chicago-based furniture designer, was confirmed in January 2016. She told Vanity Fair he barely knew who she was when they met and "had seen stand-up only once in his life." Schumer said she's saving their "how they met" story for her new book, The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, which hits shelves in August 2016.
