What Debbe Dunning From Home Improvement Is Doing Now
Debbe Dunning won audiences over as Tim Taylor's assistant, Heidi Keppert — aka the Tool Time girl on Home Improvement. She starred on the hit ABC sitcom from 1993 until its conclusion in '99, so it's been more than 20 years since we saw Dunning don the tool belt for that role.
The former Miss Burbank, Calif. told Fox News that she loved her time on the series. "It's one of those shows where you go to work [and] couldn't wait to get there. And when you leave, you're driving home, laughing the whole time, make your dinner, you go to bed and you get excited [to go back to work]..."
Dunning has since carved out time to focus on her family. She wed professional volleyball player Steve Timmons, and they had three kids: Spencer, Stoney, and Sysco. "I'm pretty proud of who I've become, and the life I've cut out for myself," she told Stars and Celebs in 2018. Dunning has also devoted time to charitable endeavors, with a focus on helping burn victims through an organization called Angel Faces.
She's continued to work in the entertainment industry, albeit in less visible roles. In fact, she intentionally saddled up her career and rode off into the sunset at one point — more on that in a minute as we reveal what Debbe Dunning is doing now.
Debbe Dunning rides off into the sunset...on reality TV
Debbe Dunning may be best known for her role on Home Improvement, but that wasn't her last time in front of the camera. She's also appeared in The Spiral Staircase, Now You Know, and Wicked, Wicked Games. Dunning may not have starred in any big-budget blockbusters, but she did manage to land her own reality show about horses and life on a ranch.
Dunning starred in Debbe Dunning's Dude Ranch Round-Up, which premiered in November 2017 and aired on RFD-TV and The Cowboy Channel. The show followed the starlet as she traveled cross-country. "It's not just riding horses," she told Fox News. "It's fly fishing, it's skeet shooting, white water rafting, I mean, you name it." Dunning's travels on the reality show took her through Colorado, Arizona, Montana, Tennessee, and Wyoming in search of the top dude ranches in the United States.
What's on the horizon for this accomplished traveler? Another sitcom perhaps? Dunning told Fox News that if a Home Improvement reboot materialized, she'd be gung-ho to reunite with Tim Allen and the rest of the cast. We'd be all in for more Tool Time too, Debbe!
