Trump Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Outfits That Totally Missed The Mark
All eyes have been on Karoline Leavitt — and her sometimes questionable clothing choices — following then-president-elect Donald Trump's 2024 announcement that she would be assuming a senior White House position. "Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator," he declared in a statement about his decision.
Since then, Leavitt has given the public loads of content, not only as it relates to her work as White House press secretary but also when it comes to her aesthetic, including her bouncy blond hair, her unfortunate makeup fails, her flashy engagement ring, and yes, even her expensive outfits. Sadly, many of Leavitt's fashion choices have totally missed the mark. We're talking Barney suits and leopard prints and all-black (p)leather get-ups, oh my!
Karoline Leavitt's plum suit was very distracting
Plum[b] crazy! Karoline Leavitt made history when she conducted her first official White House press briefing on January 28 as the youngest person ever to hold the position of White House press secretary. "There's extensive preparation that goes into each briefing," the then-27-year-old told Mercedes Schlapp at CPAC 2025 when asked about the momentous occasion.
Sadly, no amount of preparation could combat the distraction from Leavitt's vibrant plum-colored suit. According to the Daily Mail, the blazer and pants hail from Zara and regularly retail for just under $160. Meanwhile, Leavitt's blinged-out black heels are courtesy of Jimmy Choo and will set you back a whopping $730. Did her carefully curated podium message get lost in the mess of her Barney the dinosaur suit and expensive footwear? We'll let you be the judge.
Karoline Leavitt's leopard dress was not spot-on
Can a leopard change its spots?! Karoline Leavitt was spotted at CPAC 2025 on February 21 in an outdated cap-sleeved leopard-print dress that was all wrong for the daytime political conference. To make matters worse, the newly minted White House official paired the animal print with tall black leather boots that gave off more of a nighttime vibe than that of a daytime conservative political action conference. Perhaps she was planning to go straight from work to date night with her husband, with whom Leavitt shares a massive age gap. The world may never know.
Sadly, Leavitt had a long day ahead of her, and she wore the unfortunate-looking ensemble to yet another filmed sit-down interview with Megyn Kelly, host of "The Megyn Kelly Show." Fortunately for Leavitt, she was in good company, as Kelly has a history of wearing risqué outfits as well. Oh, to be a fly on that Sirius XM studio wall.
Karoline Leavitt's Madison Square Garden rally look was leatherbound
White House press secretary or motorcycle mama? Then-Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt raised eyebrows everywhere when she rolled up to the presidential hopeful's campaign rally at Madison Square Garden in October 2024 in a black crocodile leather dress ... or, at the very least, a sub-par pleather dupe of the luxury material. "This is an iconic moment for our campaign," Leavitt gushed during a Fox News interview about the rally while sporting the all-leather look.
As evidenced in an Instagram photo, juxtaposed beside her campaign colleague Sonny Joy Nelson, who was clothed in a modest dark green midi dress with long flouncy sleeves, Leavitt's all-black leather get-up complete with a daring middle slit didn't exactly pass the vibe check. Then again, Trump rallies are practically known for some rather questionable fashions. As you may recall, Melania Trump also had a rather bold fashion moment at the MSG rally, sporting a zany zebra print suit. Iconic, indeed.
