Jill Biden Is Unrecognizable In Decades-Old Throwback Pictures

The drastic transformation of Jill Biden is jarring when looking at her decades-old throwback pictures. Jill shared a snap from early in her relationship with Joe Biden to Instagram in August 2020 that cast the couple in a different light than the public was probably used to. If viewers squinted, they could likely recognize Joe's younger self, but Jill looked like another person altogether. 

Jill looks different without makeup, and although her hair was about the same length as present-day, her face was noticeably rounder as she sat perched on her future husband's lap. "'How did you get this number?' Those were the first words I spoke to Joe when he called me out of the blue on a Saturday in 1975," she wrote in the caption. If the pic was taken in 1975 then that would've put Jill around 24-years-old, and several followers noted that she looked even younger. Her '70's wardrobe was a major departure from the presidential look many were accustomed to seeing, and Jill had mentioned in an interview that she thought Joe was too clean cut for their first date.

A few months after sharing the post that referenced their first date, Jill uploaded another '70's throwback of her and Joe. For that Instagram upload she referenced the "How it started vs. How it's going" meme, and the first slide was a wayback snap of the pair. She looked more suited to attend a protest than date a politician. 

As she got older — and spent more time with Joe Biden — Jill Biden traded in summer chic for pricier outfits. The former first lady posted a couple throwbacks to Instagram that were solo shots in May 2019. In the first slide, Jill sported a black and white sleeveless dress as she posed outside at a function. She completed the look with a pair of sunglasses. "We Bidens sure do love our aviators," Jill wrote in the caption. At a glance it would be difficult to tell the photo was of Dr. Jill, and multiple followers noted that she looked like Princess Diana in that throwback. The second slide captured Jill wearing a pair of large-framed glasses while posing in the street, as she donned a turtleneck sweater and a gray coat. One fan mentioned that she could have passed as a member of "Charlie's Angels."

A week later, Jill dropped more retro pics as she uploaded a three-photo Instagram carousel. That included a family photo with Joe and their kids. Jill looked elegant in a blue dress that she accessorized with pearls. Her face may have looked different in the old school photograph, but the style was closer to what followers were accustomed to seeing.
