The Truth About Cindy Crawford's Son, Presley Walker Gerber
Cindy Crawford's daughter, Kaia Gerber, is taking the modeling world by storm — like mother, like daughter, right? With Kaia dominating runways and the tabloids, it's easy to forget that she's not Crawford's only child. The supermodel and husband Rande Gerber welcomed their first child and only son, Presley Walker Gerber, into the world on July 2, 1999. According to People, the couple wanted to do things the old-fashioned way and waited until baby Gerber's birth to find out if they were having a boy or a girl. The oldest Gerber child was born via home birth in Brentwood, Calif.
The entire family is super close-knit, with Gerber even going so far as to call his dad his best friend. When it comes to Crawford, he admitted to Extra that he doesn't fully grasp the whole iconic supermodel thing, saying, "I don't really think I've still realized that. She's still my mom." Despite being born into fame and fortune, Gerber definitely doesn't fall into the Hollywood wild child category — even though he has had his fair share of legal problems. Gerber isn't quite a household name, but he's working to make a name for himself. So who exactly is Crawford's famous son?
Presley Gerber is following in his mom's footsteps
With a supermodel for a mom, Presley Gerber was practically destined to rule the runway. In June 2016, Gerber made his runway debut at Moschino's Los Angeles Resort Show alongside fellow celebrity model child Anwar Hadid. He wowed the crowd and proved to himself that he has what it takes to make it in the industry. Prior to the show, he revealed to Vogue in an email interview that he wasn't always confident that he belonged in the fashion world. "Honestly, I have enjoyed [the fashion industry] a lot more than expected," Gerber wrote."I think I just didn't feel that I had enough experience in the fashion industry before, but now I believe I'm ready."
In addition to strutting his stuff on the catwalk, Gerber has also landed some pretty notable editorial gigs, appearing in the CR Fashionbook, GQ México and Paper Magazine, to name a few. In 2018, Gerber posed alongside sister Kaia Gerber for a Calvin Klein campaign.
Presley Gerber isn't afraid of a little ink
Presley Gerber isn't afraid to get inked. At just 20 years old, he already has quite an array of tattoos. In February 2018, the model got a tattoo on his arm of his sister's name with "XXIII", the number 23 in Roman numerals, scrawled underneath — talk about brotherly love! According to E! News, the "23" is thought to be a possible nod to Kaia's haute couture debut for Chanel during Paris Fashion Week on Jan. 23, 2018.
Kaia gushed over the sweet show of support captioning an Instagram Story of the tattoo, "@presleygerber best big bro ever." He also received a stamp of approval from his parents with Rande Gerber commenting, "RG+JG APPROVED!" and mom Cindy Crawford writing, simply, "Cool." The model also has the phrase "be grateful" tattooed on his forearm as well as the words "Look" and "Up" inked on his left and right hand, respectively (via Daily Mail). When Gerber stepped out at the CFDA Fashion Awards on June 3, 2019, he was sporting yet another tattoo on his neck that appears to say "Jon" — no word yet on the relevance of that piece of ink.
Although Gerber's current ink collection is pretty impressive, he's going to have to get a couple more if he wants to compete with lil sis Kaia Gerber, who has at least five tattoos.
Presley Gerber has had trouble with the law
According to TMZ, In the early morning hours of Dec. 30, 2018, Presley Gerber was arrested for driving under the influence. It's worth noting that, at the time of this writing, Gerber still isn't even legally allowed to drink. The outlet reported that the model was pulled over by police in Beverly Hills at around 4 a.m. for speeding in his Tesla. Upon being pulled over, Gerber allegedly smelled of alcohol and was given a sobriety test by the officers, which he failed. Gerber was booked for DUI and although bail was set at $15,000, Heavy reports that he "was not required to post bond." In July 2019, it was revealed that Gerber reached a plea deal with prosecutors. He pleaded no contest to the DUI charge and was sentenced to three years of probation in addition to completing a DUI program and two days of community service, TMZ reported.
Between dealing with her son's legal drama and managing her daughter's budding modeling career, Cindy Crawford has her hands full these days. However, her kids aren't the only reason we don't hear from the supermodel anymore.
