90s Bombshells Who Are Now Single
The 1990s was a bizarre decade that redefined what beauty was. From the gaudy brown lipstick to the mega-arched, over-plucked eyebrows, our definition of what we found to be attractive back then can sometimes leave us scratching our heads — or alternatively even inspire a younger generation today.
Although some of these looks were bold and completely out there, it still didn't stop us from idolizing total hotties that seemingly pulled everything off with ease. We paid homage to them by pinning their photos to our dorm room walls and cutting up various magazines as references at the beauty parlor time and time again.
Today, some of our fave '90s A-listers, such as Cindy Crawford, seemingly don't age and look practically the same as they did during such a turbulent time for beauty. They've also been swept off their feet and are busy raising their own next breed of stars. However, not all of our favorite starlets from that era have found love. Here are some examples of '90s bombshells who are now surprisingly single.
Drew Barrymore is single and loving it
Drew Barrymore has been single since 2016 — when she and her art consultant husband, Will Kopelman, called it quits on their marriage. Although their romance is long gone, the two have remained on good terms for their two daughters, with Barrymore even adorably gushing about their parenting skills in a since-deleted Instagram post (via People): "Will and I continue to marvel at what we made and try to be the best co-parents we can be." Aww!
When it comes to her own dating life, however, the Poison Ivy starlet has admitted she's single and happy. In 2018, the actress spoke to Entertainment Tonight, dishing she wouldn't be going back to dating apps any time soon. "It was fun to try ... I've been working out there in the public since I was young so that myth of the blind date eluded me and I always wanted to do it," Barrymore explained. "But then it's not blind on my side so it just, I don't know, doesn't work."
As for those special days that are seemingly reserved for those in love? Barrymore posted a heartfelt message on Instagram for Valentine's Day in 2019: "The constant love usually has been my kids and my friends. A type of love that does not require a romantic partnership and navigation ... I have fought my way to a deeper happiness on my own, and I love being independent!" You just keep doing you, Drew.
Don't try setting this '90s bombshell up on a blind date
Jennifer Aniston once again found herself single following the breakup from her second husband, Justin Theroux, in 2018. Shortly after their split, an insider told People that the Friends bombshell was "sad and disappointed" that her marriage didn't work out, and that "she didn't expect to be single again." As the source continued to dish, "She is a big believer in falling in love and spending her life with a partner that loves sharing hers."
Suddenly, in February 2019, fans went wild shipping their fave noughties celeb couple when Aniston's ex, Brad Pitt, was spotted at her 50th birthday party in Los Angeles. Per Us Weekly, the two embraced in front of the masses — but only as friends. As Aniston told Howard Stern in a SiriusXM interview (via Us Weekly), she enjoyed being single, adding, "Yeah, and I'm very busy, for now." As for being set up on dates? "Hey, listen, I just don't like being set up," the actress retorted. "I don't like it. I hate it."
All in all, it looks like Aniston has been putting herself first, and nobody else. "She isn't concerned about dating. She is happy to focus on work," an insider claimed to Metro that October. "She doesn't even talk about [Justin] anymore. She doesn't keep up with what he does. She is focusing on her own life."
Sharon Stone has the basic instinct to be a single mom
As of this writing in 2019, Sharon Stone is in her 60s and very happily single — with three men in her life. Her sons, Quinn Kelly, Laird Vonne, and Roan Joseph, all live with her under the same roof, and the Basic Instinct actress is content with just that. "This is a very good period of my life right now — my life is happy," she gushed to People at the Marie Claire Power Trip summit in 2018. Stone went on to reveal, "I live in the same house I've had for 25 years, and I feel happy waking up in my house with my kids ... We have such a lovely family dynamic."
As for looking for a man? The blonde starlet told People she wasn't really holding her breath: "I think somewhere in the back of your mind you think maybe one day you won't be a single parent. Then, eventually you realize, I think it's better. I'm no longer hoping for someone."
A year later, Stone officially found herself in a house filled with teens. So, how was she coping with being a single mom? "[It's] extra intriguing when there's no dad," the Casino star told Us Weekly. "Thank God the two young ones are at camp right now. I've had, like, two weeks of silence ... I feel like I remember me."
Demi Moore would rather be with her seven dogs
Demi Moore has been single for many years after her two most famous breakups: the first from husband Bruce Willis, and the second from husband Ashton Kutcher. The latter admittedly prompted the Ghost starlet to spiral out of control, and the turbulent year that followed their divorce saw her disappear from the spotlight. In 2012, Moore found herself in a scary incident at a party where she had a drug-induced seizure — subsequently causing her eldest daughter, Rumer, to shut her out of her life.
She's since been doing much better, even reconciling with her family. "She was really struggling mentally and didn't take care of herself," a source told People of Moore's darker times, adding, "Now, she has a beautiful relationship with all of her daughters. Demi feels bad about the years when she wasn't healthy. She really tries to make up for it now."
As for her own dating life? "Right now I'm focusing on my relationship with myself," Moore explained to WSJ Magazine in September 2019. She reiterated the same sentiment to Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen DeGeneres Show when asked if she was dating anyone: "No. By choice." When further pressed if she would go on a dating app, Moore revealed, "Oh my God ... No. I have seven dogs."
'90s bombshell Pamela Anderson was 'scammed' out of love
Pamela Anderson has had a long list of suitors throughout the years. The Baywatch blonde is no stranger to shocking the masses, either, such as the time she married Mötley Crüe rocker Tommy Lee after less than a week of dating. Perhaps Anderson should take her time getting to know someone — especially considering how a later relationship ended in tears.
In 2017, the model met French soccer player Adil Rami at the Grand Prix in Monaco. According to The Sun, Rami didn't speak much English, yet Anderson described their romance as "having the [right] body language." Soon enough, the two appeared inseparable, yet the starlet had her reservations — something that rang true when Rami proposed in 2018 and saw Anderson fully breaking off their relationship. Unfortunately, the Scary Movie actress picked things up yet again, with the duo looking totally blissful in early June 2019.
Shockingly enough, by the end of the month, the couple officially called it quits, with Anderson posting to her Instagram page that Rami had allegedly been unfaithful. "It's hard to accept. The last (more than) 2 years of my life have been a big lie," she wrote. "I was scammed led to believe ... we were in 'big love?' ... He used to joke about other players who had girlfriends down the street in apartments close to their wives. He called those men monsters? But this is worse ... He is the monster."
A tragic spiral for Heather Locklear
Heather Locklear has spent her recent years in and out of relationships, tragically due to her substance abuse problem. The Melrose Place beauty was at the top of her career when she started battling her inner demons in the mid-2000s. According to Page Six, along with fighting her drug and alcohol addiction, the actress also had an alleged history of getting physical with her partners, such as in 2011, when cops were called to her then-boyfriend's apartment following a confrontation. A year later, Locklear was hospitalized after reportedly mixing prescription drugs with alcohol.
In 2017, the Wayne's World 2 starlet was allegedly back in rehab for the fifth time, with Locklear telling Page Six through a rep that she was "feeling great and am taking steps to enrich and better my life." Unfortunately, those steps never happened. As revealed by Page Six, the blonde was arrested for domestic violence yet again in 2018, this time for allegedly "practically" biting off a bit of boyfriend Chris Heisser's nose.
As 2019 rolled around, Locklear dumped Heisser to focus on her mental health and sobriety, per Radar Online. "She's been in and out of rehab and nothing has changed, so she decided to change what she thinks the source of the issue is — Chris," an insider dished to the goss site. It looks like things finally may be looking up for the fallen celeb, since she celebrated her sobriety that August.
Being single is still electric for this '90s bombshell
1990s bad girl Carmen Electra hasn't really settled down in recent years — give or take a few casual flames. Per E! News, the Baywatch bombshell was seeing clothing line owner Tal Cooperman in 2014, but had their fling fizzle out after about three months. "I've always been in long-term relationships, so you know, this is the first year that I'm actually taking my time and not jumping into anything," she said to the publication. "I'm happily single." As for her perfect type? "Obviously, he has to be somewhat of a bad boy." Duh.
It looks like the model was still after the same type in 2016, telling People she "still [likes] the bad boys." Although Electra had a new mystery beau in her life, that relationship ended by the following year. "I'm actually single right now," she told Fox News. "But I believe in love and I think the right person will come my way."
The right thing may be looking after herself, as 2018 saw the starlet celebrating her 46th birthday while lounging poolside. Her ex-husband, Dennis Rodman, on the other hand, still wanted a chance to be with her, as he revealed to Page Six, "If the opportunity were to pop up today, and if I saw Carmen, I would probably ask her to marry me again." We're sure no Electra fans want that to happen again.
Naomi Campbell doesn't have time to be lonely
It's no secret that Naomi Campbell can come across as intimidating. In her professional career, she was known to shun some of her fellow peers, such as Tyra Banks, who once admitted to Norwegian/Swedish talk show Skavlan (via People) that she was "very scared" of the legendary model.
The same sentiment echoed when Campbell secretly dated One Direction crooner Liam Payne in early 2019. As revealed by The Sun, friends of the singer were worried he could be "eaten alive" by the supermodel, "who they fear will see him as a plaything." Their cause for concern was quickly squashed, however, as Campbell broke off their fling after a mere four months. "Naomi has taken the decision to let things fizzle out. She's just not into Liam any more and has cast him aside," a source told The Sun. "Quite simply she got a bit bored." Ouch!
Campbell's version of the story was a bit less harsh, to say the least. Speaking to WSJ Magazine, the model revealed she felt "no pressure" to settle down or have children. "I'll see what the universe brings me," she explained, adding, "Being alone doesn't mean you are lonely. I don't have time to be bored, and I don't have time to be lonely."
'90s bombshell Tyra Banks is content co-parenting with her ex-beau
Tyra Banks has been enjoying the single life since splitting from her partner of five years, Erik Asla, in 2017. As the duo share their son, York, they decided to end things amicably. "It came drama-free and they're co-parenting their young son," an insider revealed to Page Six. Miraculously, the former pair also continued to have a healthy working relationship, too, as Asla was a photographer on America's Next Top Model.
As it turns out, Banks has had bigger fish to fry than to worry about being single. In 2018, she opened up to Entertainment Tonight about her difficulties having children, and ultimately, her decision to have York via surrogate: "Yeah, I don't remember if it was, 'Am I less than a woman?' but I remember just thinking, 'Oh my god, I waited too long, like, why did I do this? Like, why did I do it?' ... just crazy for me — just really, really difficult."
Things are better these days, however, and the former model has had her mother, Carolyn London, around to help raise her son. "Me and Nana and York, we get in the bed together, and it's like, wow, this is three generations, you know?" Banks said. "And we spend so much time together he now calls us Nana Mama ... The amazing part is he loves her so much."
Katie Holmes secretly dated ... then secretly became single again
Katie Holmes was one half of Hollywood's most eccentric couple of the noughties — TomKat. After the actress' very public split from ex-husband Tom Cruise, she was rumored to have quietly started dating Jamie Foxx in 2013.
Perhaps the Dawson's Creek starlet was more used to Cruise's extravagant displays of affection (yeah, we're thinking of that moment on The Oprah Winfrey Show), as she pulled the plug on her romance six years later. According to the Daily Mail, since then, Foxx allegedly rebounded with a new flame, Sela Vave — who's a few years younger than his daughter.
As for Holmes? The actress has been looking after her number one priority — her daughter. "Her main focus is raising Suri [Cruise], whom she's so proud of," an insider dished to In Touch. "Being a mom and an actress is enough for her right now. Of course, she'd like to meet her soulmate, but she's not discouraged. She's not dating right now, but she's not opposed to it either. Katie is living her life, she really is in a happy place. No one needs to worry about her."
Alicia Silverstone is a bit clueless about the art of modern dating
Playing everyone's fave ditz, Cher Horowitz, in the '90s classic Clueless, Alicia Silverstone was off the market for quite some time. In 2018, however, she filed for divorce from her husband of a whopping 12 years, Christopher Jarecki. "They still deeply love and respect each other and remain very close friends but have mutually decided to separate after being together for 20 years," a rep told Entertainment Tonight. "They have a son together who they will continue to co-parent."
The former couple has definitely remained close, even perhaps taking the cake for most amicable exes. In an interview with Working Mother, Silverstone revealed wanting to have more children. She then added a startling confession: she wouldn't be opposed to asking her former hubby for "an assist." Kudos to them!
As for their breakup, there's no denying the split was rough for the actress at first. "Obviously, it's heartbreaking," The Crush starlet told Redbook. "You don't ever think you'll be apart when you get married." That said, the actress admittedly "loves" testing out the dating waters, adding, "Yes, I go on dates, and I find it very fascinating meeting interesting, intelligent, different people. I'm super excited about being available and open to whatever's next. Of course, there's tons about it that's confusing. I call my girlfriends and I'm like, 'What does this mean?'"
This '90s bombshell is too busy working for any romance
Elizabeth Hurley knows the struggles of having a work-life balance. Splitting from her fiancé, Shane Warne, in 2013, the Austin Powers bombshell has casually dated — but not much else. Although she was secretly linked to a mystery man in 2018, the starlet has had no time to lock anything serious down. Speaking to You magazine (via The Sun), Hurley explained, "When I'm filming, I don't go out at all."
Perhaps her lack of long-term success comes from dating those outside her industry? As the actress herself revealed to Grazia, "We've all lived out of suitcases our entire professional lives ... all of us in the public eye, we just get it. You never have any ties in our business, you can never commit. If I had to fly to New York tomorrow to work I'd go in a heartbeat. People who aren't in that life can find it very difficult to adapt." Considering her ex, Hugh Grant, was arrested after being caught with a call girl during their relationship over 20 years ago, maybe there aren't any rules in the game of Tinseltown love.
In February 2019, Hurley opened up about her single life to Red magazine: "People say, 'Are you lonely?' and actually, I'm really not." Offering some solid life advice, The Royals actress declared, "I'd rather be happy and single than miserable with someone, that's for sure."
