The Real Reason JWoww Split From Her Latest Boyfriend

Something about Jenni "JWoww" Farley and her latest boyfriend, Zack Clayton Carpinello, seemed written in the stars. According to E! News, the Jersey Shore star had known the wrestler for years because she was friends with his sister. He even attended her 2015 wedding to Roger Mathews, but things didn't get romantic until after her tumultuous divorce. Farley first went public with her short-lived romance with Carpinello in April 2019, when she identified her then-mystery man as nothing more than his nickname, "24," during an appearance on the It's Happening with Snooki & Joey podcast (via the Asbury Park Press). The duo eventually made the whole thing red carpet official in May.

Though it didn't seem like the pair was moving terribly fast by Hollywood standards, their relationship sadly hit a wall shortly after Carpinello was introduced to JWoww's famous castmates. As fans know, the family introduction is the true test of any Jersey Shore relationship, and it ended up being the athlete's downfall.

One dramatic episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation was enough to unravel Farley's entire fling. Here's what went down.

Were things a little too intense for JWoww and Zack Clayton Carpinello?

Ah, young love. Jenni Farley was undoubtedly enamored with her younger beau at the start, but there's a chance their romance simply wasn't sustainable. When things start out with a literal bang, they're typically prone to fizzling a little faster.

In an episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation (via OK! magazine), the reality star admitted that things were getting a little too hot and heavy with Zack Clayton Carpinello — and all that intense physical activity was starting to take a toll on her body. In a fit of TMI, JWoww revealed that she was having "lots and lots and lots" of bedroom romps with the wrestler ... to the point that she needed to "ice" down her lady parts. "I'm about to put myself in the hospital," she told her castmates.

Now, part of us is concerned thinking about the television personality straddling an ice pack, but there's another part of us that wants to give her a massive high five.

Jenni Farley's latest boyfriend got handsy with her roommate

It's no secret that JWoww doesn't always get along with Jersey Shore co-star Angelina Pivarnick. The reality TV stars' on-going feud is one of the MTV series' major plot points, and though Pivarnick won over the rest of the cast years after walking away with her garbage bags in tow early on in the show's run, Farley is hardly a convert — and Season 3 of Family Vacation might have actually burned that bridge forever.

According to People, Farley was blindsided after watching an October 2019 episode that took place during a trip to Las Vegas. Carpinello, who accompanied Farley and her castmates, appeared to wrap his hand around the engaged EMT's waist, touch her butt, and put his hand on her leg during a nightclub outing. Farley was "drunkenly passed out" at the time, and only found out what happened once the scene aired. None of her roommates, who witnessed the events, apparently bothered to mention it ... though to be fair, they probably didn't want to relive that note incident.

"After seeing tonight's episode I'm pretty hurt. I feel disrespected by someone I called a friend and by someone who stated they loved me," Farley wrote in part on Instagram. "For 5 months I was naive, probably laughed at and made into a storyline that will forever haunt me." According to Us Weekly, Farley ended her relationship with Carpinello shortly after watching this episode.

JWoww's latest boyfriend made Angelina Pivarnick uncomfortable

Things between Zack Clayton Carpinello and Angelina Pivarnick were apparently sketchy from the beginning. Before he was caught on camera reportedly groping the EMT in a nightclub, Pivarnick admitted that their conversation made her feel uncomfortable. At the time, Jenni Farley defended her then-24-year-old beau, but it definitely didn't bode well for their future.

According to People, which recapped the gutting episode that destroyed Farley's latest relationship, Carpinello had previously pressed Pivarnick for details about her sex life with fiancé Chris Larangiera. "I just met you, 24, and you're literally grilling me about my relationship with Chris," she vented to producers. "Like, bro. This kid is 24 years old, he knows nothing about relationships. He's probably been in none in his entire life ... He's such a weirdo ... Why are you riding me about these things and you've only known me for 20 minutes?"

Farley later slammed Pivarnick on Twitter and argued that she willingly divulged the details and "can't stand" her fiancé (but like she said, we'll save the latter claim for another day). Even if Pivarnick isn't the most reliable narrator, both Deena Cortese and Vinny Guadagnino voiced that they didn't think Carpinello was acting appropriately either ... and best friends generally know best.

Jenni Farley hasn't accepted Zack Clayton Carpinello's apology

It's never advisable to flirt with your girlfriend's roommates, but it's even less advisable to do so in front of cameras that are only going to blast out your behavior for millions of viewers to watch. Honestly, we don't really blame Farley for kicking Carpinello to the curb. But that doesn't mean he didn't try to apologize — it just doesn't seem like JWoww was willing to accept it.

The day after that already infamous episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation aired, Carpinello took to Instagram to apologize to the reality TV mom. "I made mistakes that I cannot take back, which I take full responsibility for," he wrote. "Jenni does not deserve any damage from anybody else. This is on me. I sincerely apologize to Jenni. I apologize to Angelina as well. I love Jenni, with everything I have, I make this known to her every day. I will continue to do everything to make this known to her and her kids, who also have my heart. I will make it certain that nothing like this will ever happen again, in any way regardless of the outcome."

According to Entertainment Tonight, neither Farley or Pivarnick have publicly responded to Carpinello's apology as of this writing. In other words, it seems like 24 is probably still in the doghouse.

Was Angelina Pivarnick an instigator following JWoww's split?

Angelina Pivarnick might just have a knack for making a bad situation worse. We already know she was instigating arguments by posting swipe-ups about Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's prison sentence on her Instagram Stories, but this behavior seems to have extended to other facets of her life — perhaps even JWoww's breakup. Apparently, the so-called "Staten Island Dump" hasn't really learned how to bite her tongue.

According to Page Six, Pivarnick appeared to throw salt in Jenni Farley's wounds by breaking her post-drama silence with a sexy Instagram photo. The reality star, who posed in lingerie, quoted Audrey Hepburn in the caption: "I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.. I believe tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles."

Now, it's impossible to say that the post was aimed at her drama with Carpinello, but it certainly can't be easy for Farley to forgive either party with these constant reminders.

Carpinello didn't fit in with Farley's Jersey Shore castmates

Jenni Farley already had some reservations about bringing Zack Clayton Carpinello around her castmates, we just didn't know that her first instinct was probably the correct one. Though the obviously-smitten mother of two wanted to introduce her new beau to her Jersey Shore family, she wasn't really sure he could handle that sort of environment. It is, after all, a lot like being thrown into a shark-filled lake ... if the lake is a hot tub and all the sharks are drunk.

In a Season 3 episode of Family Vacation, Farley admitted she was "excited but low-key about to throw up" over Carpinello finally meeting her Seaside Heights crew (via MTV News). "I'm a little anxious having 24 in this environment," she added. "You never know what's gonna come out of my roommates' mouths, and that's the concerning part." Ronnie Ortiz-Magro agreed and admitted they were like "savages" and "f**king piranhas." They immediately started talking about Carpinello's sex life the minute he walked in the door, and he found himself struggling to keep up. Vinny Guadagnino admitted, "Twenty-four isn't rolling with the punches, but it's just what we do. We break each other's balls."

In the words of the Spice Girls, if you wanna be JWoww's lover, you gotta get with her friends (just not literally. Like, keep Angelina out of it).

Did reality TV put a strain on JWoww's latest relationship?

Of course, Jenni Farley's ex-husband, Roger Mathews, had to weigh in on her headline-making split from Zack Clayton Carpinello, but it wasn't quite as concerning as the series of Instagram posts he shared amid his own breakup with the reality star in 2018. In a shocking turn of events, Mathews actually offered some insight about life as a reality TV boyfriend. In short: it ain't easy, and it could be part of the reason Carpinello and Farley didn't last.

"The very premise and settings for the show make it incredibly hard on relationships both while filming and at home," Mathews told Us Weekly. "I would never blame the show. It's a personal choice to be part of it but I've always thought Sammi choosing her personal sanity and privacy by not participating in the new season spoke volumes about her character."

Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola was the sole member of the original Jersey Shore cast who didn't return for the series' reboot. In an Instagram post, she admitted she was focusing on business and her relationship and wanted to "avoid potentially toxic situations." We can't help but wonder if Farley's latest romance would have benefited if she'd followed suit.
