Below Deck Star Arrested After Domestic Violence Investigation

One of the stars of Bravo's reality series Below Deck just hit some choppy waters. According to TMZ, Kate Chastain was arrested June 13, 2016 in Melbourne Beach, Fla. after she allegedly bit and choked her girlfriend.

According to the tab, Chastain allegedly tried to kick her drunk girlfriend out of their house. The girlfriend reportedly refused, prompting Chastain to bite her in the forearm, bicep, and leg. "Cops say Kate also put a knee on her head, choked her, and tried to stop her breathing," TMZ said. The girlfriend subsequently showed up to work with bruises on her arm, which led to a domestic violence investigation and, later, Chastain's arrest. According to TMZ, Chastain was booked on a felony domestic violence charge "of battery and strangulation" and has since posted a $5,000 bond.

Chastain, 33, is a graduate of the University of Central Florida. Florida Today says she's been in the yachting business since about 2007 and has "[worked] her way up from laundry stewardess to chief stew." She has appeared on two seasons of Below Deck, which chronicles the drama among crew members serving on an $11 million luxury yacht.
