Celebs Who Can't Stand Bethenny Frankel
When it comes to Bravo's Real Housewives franchise, The Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel is arguably its most outspoken and sarcastic cast member. From slinging insults at her co-stars (she's pretty good at this) to telling it like it is, you don't want to mess with Frankel. Her rough and tumble nature has rubbed a few celebs the wrong way — in and outside of the Real Housewives universe. So, who isn't a fan of Frankel?
We won't give away the full list just yet, but let's just say the list includes plenty of high-powered people, including spicey home maven Martha Stewart, who called Frankel a "pest." Ha! Martha doesn't mince words. Then there are Frankel's fellow reality stars, such as The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member Tamra Judge and Millionaire Matchmaker star Patti Stanger. Let's just say there's no love lost among this trio.
We don't have anything against Frankel, of course, but we can't resist an entertaining feud. If you're on the same page, then join us as we sit back and review all of the celebs who can't stand Bethenny Frankel.
Martha Stewart isn't impressed with Bethenny Frankel
Once upon a time, Martha Stewart and Bethenny Frankel starred alongside one another in The Celebrity Apprentice, and while some might assume the two hit it off (powerful businesswomen should have stuff in common, right?) that was not the case. Stewart touched on this issue when she appeared on Frankel's now-defunct talk show, Bethenny. "Well you weren't so likable then," she told Frankel. "You weren't. No, you weren't. You were a pest, you were a pest. You were so out there in front of everybody." Ladies and gents, Stewart went there while on Frankel's very own talk show.
As for how Frankel feels about Stewart's shade? "She doesn't like me. She never really has. She's consistent," Frankel confessed during a 2015 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. "We had a moment where we were going to do something on TV recently together. She's always been like a parent that I've always tried to get them to love me, but I gave up on that a couple years ago when I had my own show. She just never misses the opportunity to say something negative about me or my products."
Fashion guru Rachel Zoe called Bethenny 'desperate'
It would be fair to say that Bethenny Frankel isn't afraid to start a fight — a character trait that has cost her some alliances. Case in point: Celebrity stylist and former Bravo star Rachel Zoe gave up on Frankel after the RHONY star slammed her on Twitter. It all started after Frankel posted since-deleted tweets seemingly about Zoe's now-defunct show, The Rachel Zoe Project. "Is wondering if I'm the only one who can't get over the self-important nonsense that is Rachel Zoe. Catching up on my dvr. Wow," Frankel tweeted (via Jezebel). Frankel then mocked Zoe's signature catchphrase by writing: "Is dying over this show. If I stick on a lampshade with a moo moo and a pair of bananas hoop earrings, rz may just D I E. What a bunch of BS!"
Needless to say, Zoe did not appreciate the criticism, tweeting that Frankel "is inappropriate and is clearly desperate for attention." Zoe also expressed confusion over Frankel's "vicious" tirade, noting that she had been nothing but "kind" to the wifey over the years. Hmm...
Omarosa questioned Bethenny Frankel's talent
If you know anything about The Celebrity Apprentice alum and former senior White House adviser Omarosa Manigault Newman, then you're probably well aware that she doesn't shy away from a fight. And if you need any additional proof, look no further than her spat with Bethenny Frankel. The drama kicked off in 2010, when Frankel appeared on The View to accuse Manigault Newman of using reality television to get "famous" instead of parlaying it into a "real career" (via CBS News). Shots fired, y'all.
Manigault Newman fired back when she appeared on Frankel's now-defunct talk show in 2013. "It's different for you and I," Manigault Newman told Frankel. "I am an African-American woman. You get to walk around and be mediocre and you still get rewarded with things. We have to be exceptional to get anything in this business." Her retort didn't stop there. When Frankel argued that Manigault Newman didn't have a brand, the woman famous enough to be referred to simply Omarosa responded with: "You make cupcakes, I worked in the White House." Yeah, we think it's safe to say President Donald Trump's former employee-turned-whistleblower doesn't have much respect for this Real Housewife's career.
Patti Stanger says 'mean' people 'don't deserve love'
From a contentious divorce to the death of a boyfriend, It's no secret Bethenny Frankel has struggled with love over the years, so we're a bit surprised when Millionaire Matchmaker star Patti Stanger used Frankel's love life as a means to knock her down. "I just feel like when people are mean to other people, they don't deserve love," Stanger told Life & Style, while discussing Frankel. The motive behind Stanger's vitriol? It supposedly had a little something to do with Frankel's feud with her former The Real Housewives of New York co-star Jill Zarin. "She hurt our feelings, me and Jill. We were really close, and there are parts of me that still love [you] Bethenny, but I would want an apology. Why did you go behind my back and talk to my clients, which you know [she] did, because I used to fix her up..." Stanger said.
Stanger also took accused Frankel of not supporting Zarin when her husband, Bobby Zarin, was sick. (He has since passed away.) "You can't make a f***ing phone call to Bobby and say, 'how are you?' Because, you know, he may not make it," Stanger said. "This is not a game, this is real life."
RHOC star Tamra Judge critiqued Bethenny Frankel's body
Bethenny Frankel is no stranger to stirring up controversy — a skill that has ticked off a few stars in the Bravo universe. Take a look at the insult The Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge threw Frankel's way after the business mogul shared a questionable photo to Instagram. In the pic, Frankel donned her then 4-year-old daughter's Hello Kitty pajamas, captioning the shot: "This is my daughter's nightgown and PJ shorts. Think we're ready to start sharing clothes yet?"
For whatever reason, Judge decided to go after Frankel for the post, arguing that she was "begging for attention." Judge then seemingly accused Frankel of having an issue with eating: "If you do fit into your 4-year-old's clothes, don't talk about it! Just go eat!"
Frankel made a joke about the apparent body-shaming situation, tweeting: "BREAKING NEWS! World Scandal: Former reality star, failed talk show host & cocktail maven jokes by wearing her kids' pjs!"
RHONY alum Kelly Bensimon accused Frankel of being a bad mother
When model Kelly Bensimon joined The Real Housewives of New York in Season 2, she immediately butted heads with Bethenny Frankel. It's unclear what started the beef, but Bensimon accused Frankel of trying to kill her, and the bitter feud came to an explosive head when the cast traveled to St. John in 2010 — a trip documented in an episode titled, "Scary Island." In the footage, Bensimon relentlessly attacks Frankel at dinner, and later bashes her to then co-star Jill Zarin. "There's like knives on her tongue," Bensimon told Zarin, while discussing Frankel's relationship with then-partner Jason Hoppy (via Vulture). "I can't even imagine Jason kissing her because she's full of knives."
Sadly, it appears Bensimon still hasn't moved on from this situation. In fact, she took to the Out in the Wild podcast to accuse Frankel of putting her then-pregnancy at risk by traveling for RHONY. "She was pregnant this entire time and was having serious issues with her unborn child ... And I'm like — you want me to film with a woman that doesn't even care about her kid in her stomach? She's like, 'Oh, if I have a miscarriage, whatever,'" alleged Bensimon.
Paris Jackson took Bethenny Frankel to task via Twitter
Sometimes it's best to keep your opinions to yourself — a lesson Bethenny Frankel seemingly learned after she tweeted about Paris Jackson's mental health. In March 2019, Frankel shared a message about Jackson's alleged suicide attempt. In a since-deleted tweet, the RHONY star wrote (via Refinery29): "I am so upset about @parisjackson who allegedly attempted suicide. We are the product of our parents' unresolved issues. She is a very loving person who helps those in need without looking for praise. My [heart emoji] is with her. I want to take away her sadness as if she was my daughter."
Jackson didn't appreciate Frankel's empathy, retweeting her message with this caption: "Lies lies lies omg and more lies." It's not clear if Jackson meant to call Frankel a liar or if she intended to slam the press for publicizing her situation. Either way, we think it's safe to say Jackson didn't appreciate Frankel's unsolicited message, but that didn't stop Frankel from continuing to weigh in on Paris' life. "Well, something is amiss," Frankel tweeted. "I will not explain how I know her because that would betray confidence but something is off here. That I can assure you." Oh boy.
Wendy Williams claims she's 'forced' to like Bethenny Frankel
There's no denying talk show host Wendy Williams has a knack for telling it like it is, especially if it involves celebrities. Bethenny Frankel has been one of the television personality's favorite targets on The Wendy Williams Show. Frankel definitely picked up on this, noting during a February 2018 appearance on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live that she had been put on "blast" by the former radio star one too many times.
Williams publicly addressed her dislike for Frankel during a May 2019 episode of Wendy, stating: "Bethenny Frankel has never been my favorite person. Is that a secret?" She then admitted that she's now "forced to like" Frankel, then demonstrated her forced fondness for the RHONY star by addressing a photo of Frankel: "I like you. And I'm team you," Williams said. But wait — that's not all. Williams also extended an offer to Frankel to appear on her show so the two could hug it out, but we're not sure we're buying this peace offering.
Sunny Hostin's beef with Bethenny Frankel goes way back
ABC's The View is known for turning up the heat, thanks to its outspoken and fiery co-hosts, including former prosecutor Sunny Hostin, who came after Bethenny Frankel during a roundtable discussion about The Real Housewives of New York. While chatting about a RHONY clip, Hostin brought up an anecdote about Frankel, accusing the mogul of yelling at her child when the two were staying at the same vacation resort. "I don't know Bethenny, but I've seen her behave that way on the beach when she was yelling at my child," Hostin said. "It was in the middle of the day, and my child was about 7, playing with other children at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and she said that her child was napping inside with the window open and that our children were being too loud on the beach. [She] yelled at my child, and I went out there and stood in front of my child, and I yelled at her and told her adults speak to adults. And she knows I'm telling the truth."
Frankel dismissed the situation during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, telling to Andy Cohen: "I don't know. I think she's been drinking or taking some drugs. I don't know her!" Ha! How very Mariah Carey of her.
