What's Come Out About Jim Edmonds' Alleged Affair
Baseball legend and Fox Sports Midwest broadcaster Jim Edmonds married his third wife, former The Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King Edmonds, in October 2014. The couple later welcomed Aspen Edmonds into the world in November 2016, followed by twin boys Hart and Hayes Edmonds in June 2018. The two seemed to have it all, but that fantasy came crashing down in June 2019, when gossip blog All About the Tea shared screenshots of Jim allegedly sexting with another woman. Ugh.
Once the sordid details became public, Jim copped to having a "lapse in judgment," (via a statement to Us Weekly), while Meghan slammed her husband's supposed "affair" in an emotional blog post. So much for keeping your private issues private, right?
He said, she said drama aside, there are many curious aspects of this alleged cheating scandal. From the allegation that Meghan left Jim's supposed mistress a voicemail, to this woman's mysterious identity, this story is a goldmine of gossip.
Ready to dive deep into this salacious tale? We've covered all of our bases (sorry, we couldn't resist) and then some in our round-up of everything that has come out about Jim Edmonds' alleged affair.
Meghan doesn't buy the lapse in judgment excuse
An interesting point of contention between Jim and Meghan Edmonds concerns their definition of cheating. Their differing points of view came to light after All the Tea published its report, with Jim downplaying the nature of the alleged affair, and squaring a lot of the blame on his so-called mistress. "Regrettably, I had a lapse in judgment. I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person," he shared to Us Weekly. "At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none. This is someone trying to profit from my name. I am aware she has done this to others in the past."
Meghan seemingly took issue with Jim's take, however, writing in her personal blog: "It wasn't one mistake, one lapse in judgement. I saw the texts — each one represents his decision to throw our marriage in the trash."
Yep, it sounds like these two need to find a common ground on this issue before they can move forward. A disconnect of this magnitude can't be ignored, to say it plainly.
Who is the 'baseball madame?'
One of the more curious details about Jim Edmonds' alleged affair concerns the identity of his supposed mistress. All About the Tea reported that Jim allegedly hooked up with a woman named "Jenn," a.k.a. the "baseball madame," nicknamed for her rumored relationships with men in Major League Baseball. Jim and Jenn supposedly met in 2010, when he was still married to his second wife, Allison Jayne Raski, and during his tenure with the Cincinnati Reds. The pair's alleged romance cooled off at some point, but it allegedly resumed again in March 2018 when Meghan Edmonds was just months away from giving birth to the couple's twin boys.
"Jim sent Jenn a DM on Instagram in March [2018]. She had not heard from him in years," a source told the outlet. "Their friendship sparked again and they started communicating on a regular basis. Their communications quickly turned from friendly to dirty texting."
But wait — that's not all. The source alleged that Jim's relationship with Jenn ultimately became physical, a point he has denied. "They went on a couple of dates and started having sex in May (2018)," All About The Tea reported. "They would meet up at hotels while he was on the road doing his broadcasting job. Jenn would fly into the city where Jim was working and stay with him."
Jim brushed of the claims, telling Us Weekly he "never touched this girl," although he did not use her name.
The alleged affair happened when?
One of the important questions surrounding Jim Edmonds' alleged affair concerns the timing. All About The Tea reported that Jim supposedly contacted the "baseball madame" in March 2018, when Meghan Edmonds was pregnant with the couple's twin boys. To add insult to injury? Jim allegedly sent a graphic video of himself to the woman on the same day Meghan gave birth to Hart and Hayes, which was on June 5, 2018. Sheesh.
As of this writing, Jim has yet to address this alleged timeline, but Meghan seemingly alluded to it in her blog post about the situation. "I did nothing wrong, I don't deserve this," she wrote. "I did nothing except be pregnant with our twins and try to have a healthy pregnancy."
We don't know what exactly happened here, but we do know that no person deserves to be cheated — especially not while pregnant. Hopefully, this wasn't the case with Meghan and Jim.
About that voicemail...
When gossip blog All About the Tea spilled the beans on Jim Edmonds' alleged affair, it also shared audio of a scathing voicemail Meghan Edmonds' supposedly left the woman in question. In the voicemail, a woman identified by the blog as Meghan unleashes the full fury on the woman she suspects of interloping in her marriage. "Know this: Every single guy in the Major League Baseball you have slept with and that you have blackmailed, I am getting every ounce of it for the FBI," the woman purported to be Meghan said.
The woman then took things even further, adding, "Think about retracting that story, because I am telling you right now, you will be facing criminal charges for blackmailing. You will not (inaudible) him, and no one is going to (inaudible) anything that you say. Good luck with the police showing up. I hope they take your children. Try threatening my family again." Woah, that escalated quickly.
As for Meghan, however, she denied ever leaving Jim's alleged side piece a voicemail. "I found out the same way you guys did: in the tabloids," she wrote about the cheating rumors. "I never left a voicemail for the other woman." Given how honest Meghan was in the blog, we don't know why she would lie about the voicemail — fingers crossed this mess gets cleaned up soon.
Meghan just can't with the 'nudies'
Although Jim Edmonds didn't necessarily cop to having a full-blown affair, he did admit to engaging in inappropriate conversations with and unidentified woman. The text exchanges supposedly included the aforementioned graphic video and pictures of Jim's private parts, details that didn't sit too well with Meghan. In fact, the mom slammed Jim for the salacious messages, complaining in her blog post: "Why did he self-sabotage? And who sends nudies? Doesn't everyone know better than this in 2019? What drives someone to self-destruct in such a way?" Yep, there's no doubt here that Meghan wasn't impressed with Jim's supposed actions.
It's possible Meghan is worried about how these texts will affect Jim's impressive career, as she also mentioned the importance of one's reputation in her screed. "In the days of digital media what are we if we don't have our reputation?" she added. "Every job is dependent upon an unsoiled reputation. What was he thinking?" What was he thinking, indeed.
The scandal couldn't have happened at a worse time
If you follow Meghan Edmonds on Instagram, then you know that she's deeply in love with her kiddos. So, many fans were heartbroken when Meghan revealed in her blog post about Jim Edmonds' alleged affair that her son, Hart, might have a medical issue. "And all of this could not have come at a worse time," she penned. "Again, something I wasn't ready to share but here I am sharing it: we are worried our son, Hart, might have a neurological disorder." How terrible. No parent should ever have to worry about something like this, especially in the context of marital drama.
Meghan also opened up about the emotional toll Hart's possible diagnosis has taken on her, writing, "It's been the most trying last couple months of my entire life and we still don't have answers. Sometimes I leave the house after the kids go to bed so I can drive around and ugly cry in the dark with no one around. Now I have this to deal with: my one true love betraying me in the most disgusting and public way possible."
Wow. Our heart goes out to Meghan during this trying time.
Wait, did Jim cheat with Meghan?
Once upon a time, Meghan Edmonds' former RHOC cast mate, Kelly Dodd, accused her of cheating with Jim Edmonds while he was married to his second wife, Allison Jayne Raski. The drama came to be after Dodd received a text from Meghan asking if she had a boyfriend, despite the fact that she was married at the time. Dodd then shot back, "A friend told me your husband has a mistress," a jab that didn't sit well with Meghan, who was pregnant with Aspen during the exchange. A rehash of the testy back-and-forth aired during Season 12 of RHOC.
Making matters even more dramatic? Dodd, during a later appearance on E!'s Daily Pop, accused Meghan and Jim of sneaking around behind Allison's back. She brought up the topic when questioning why Meghan decided to share the text exchange on-camera, stating: "It's like, I don't pinpoint her stuff out when she was having an affair with Jimmy when he was married to Allison. I don't put that stuff out there. Sorry, spilling the tea now."
Jim was outraged by the accusation, to put it mildly, telling E! News: "I think it's ridiculous first of all and second of all, we have a family and to sit there and say that [Meghan] was my mistress is beyond crazy," Jim said. "This is the first time I've ever said anything to anyone but I just can't deal with the bulls**t lies anymore."
Vicki Gunvalson might be psychic
It's no secret Meghan Edmonds and her former cast mate, Vicki Gunvalson, haven't always had a great relationship. Their feud went down because Meghan accused Gunvalson's then-boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, of faking his cancer diagnosis. Trés dramatic, no?
Gunvalson wasn't pleased with Meghan's suspicions, to say the least, so she decided to confront Jim Edmonds about the situation during a party portrayed during Season 10 (via Entertainment Weekly). After Gunvalson told Jim that Meghan is "really nasty" and that she felt "sorry" for him, she yelled, "Jim, talk to me in five years when you're divorced." Oy, talk about a major dig.
Meghan later accused Gunvalson deflecting from her own relationship issues given that she and Ayers eventually split. But despite the cast mates' bad blood, Gunvalson reached out to Meghan after Jim's alleged cheating scandal broke. "@MeghanKEdmonds I'm so sorry," she tweeted. "You are right, YOU did not deserve this." Who knows, maybe the two will be friends one day — stranger things have happened.
Can their marriage be saved?
It can be tough to come back from a cheating scandal, especially when it goes down in the public eye. And while we wouldn't blame Meghan Edmonds if she decided to leave Jim Edmonds, that decision is entirely up to her. So, is Meghan considering divorce? Although the mom didn't address the possibility outright, she did express some optimism for the future. "Ultimately, I have hope our marriage can recover," she wrote in her heartfelt and raw blog post. Hey, you can't knock Meghan for trying.
We can't say for certain, but we have a feeling Meghan's strong love for Jim is behind her hope. "You are my best friend and I couldn't have been luckier to find you," Meghan penned in her one year anniversary post to Jim. Aww. We don't know about you guys, but looking back on the good times makes us feel kind of sad.
Anyways, Meghan and Jim have to do what's best for their family at the end of the day, no matter where that might lead to.
