Wendy Williams' Ex-Husband Makes Bold Claim About Her
Wendy Williams' former flame has shared some scandalous details about his ex-wife, following news that Williams' current husband has had a child with another woman.
Williams' ex-husband Bert Girigorie spoke with Radar Online in an interview published on Thursday, March 28, 2019. Girigorie, whose divorce from Williams was finalized in 1995, claimed that the talk show host had cheated on him. "After we broke up people started calling me up and telling me different things. At that point it didn't matter," he shared, adding, "Several people came to me with stories about her being with other people."
Girigorie did reportedly learn of Williams' alleged affair with one man in particular — one who was married — though he didn't provide too many details. While Girigorie noted that the man with whom Williams allegedly had an affair worked in "entertainment and media," he wouldn't reveal his identity since "it might impact his relationship" with the man's wife.
Regarding Williams' alleged infidelity, Girigorie recalled, "She would stay out all night and come home about 10 or 11 o'clock in the morning and was like 'Oh?' and she didn't offer any explanation." He told Radar, "And that pissed me off. I just let it go. I do not wish her any ill will. I hope that she is able to find some peace of mind."
According to Radar, Williams and Girigorie started dating in 1992, marrying in 1994. Today, Girigorie apparently believes that Williams wed him to keep up appearances, saying that he "fit the profile that she thought would be acceptable to her parents." Backing up his claim, he shared with Radar that Williams had had a reporter and a photographer ride with them to their wedding.
And while he and Williams allegedly enjoyed each other's company before their marriage, they just couldn't make their relationship work — in part because of Williams' allegedly "bizarre" behavior, which Girigorie believes may have been caused by drug use.
Girigorie's claims that Williams had cheated on him during their short marriage comes after Williams' husband, Kevin Hunter, made headlines for allegedly fathering a child with another woman. On March 25, Page Six reported that Hunter's alleged mistress, Sharina Hudson, had given birth. However, neither Hunter's alleged affair with Hudson nor the baby's paternity has been confirmed.
Around this time, news also broke that Williams, who had been living in a sober house, had allegedly relapsed and had been found drunk. She was then reportedly hospitalized and given an IV to help her sober up.
While Hunter's rumored affair with Hudson has not been confirmed, Williams has opened up about her husband's alleged infidelity before. In her 2001 memoir, Wendy's Got The Heat, she wrote that she'd discovered Hunter having an affair just one month after their son was born when she caught him talking to another woman on the phone at night. "No woman deserves this," she penned in her book, as reported by E! News. "I wanted to kill him. I mean really kill him. For real. I wanted to kill him more because I was in the process of breaking my Number One Rule: No Cheating."
Prior to Williams' hospitalization and her admission to The Wendy Williams Show viewers that she'd been battling addiction, Williams had taken time off from her talk show to deal with health issues reportedly stemming from her hyperthyroidism and Graves' disease. However, she'd returned to her show in early March 2019. It was then that she also opened up about her relationship with Hunter, as there'd been rumors that their marriage was in trouble.
"I want to shout out to my husband. I'm still wearing my ring," Williams told her audience (via Entertainment Tonight). "He's my best friend, he's my lover, he's all this and he's all that. I know what you've been seeing and I know what the streets have been talking about."
She continued, "I am still very much in love with my husband," adding, "Anybody who's been married for five minutes or 500 years, you know! Marriages are not easy. Don't ask me about mine until you see this [ring] gone. And it ain't going anywhere. Not in this lifetime."
Williams has since been spotted without her ring, as reported by People.
Regardless of who may or may not have cheated on whom, we just hope that Williams can remain focused on maintaining her sobriety, bettering her health, and, ultimately, being happy.
