Carrie Underwood, Husband Mike Fisher Welcome Second Child
Congratulations are in order for country music star Carrie Underwood!
On Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, the "Love Wins" singer took to Instagram to announce that she and husband Mike Fisher welcomed their second child together, a baby boy named Jacob, on Monday, Jan. 21.
"Jacob Bryan Fisher entered the world in the wee hours of the morning on Monday," Underwood wrote to her 8.2 million followers, captioning a slideshow of sweet snapshots of the family's newest little addition with herself, Fisher, and their three-year-old son Isaiah. "His mom, dad and big brother couldn't be happier for God to trust them with taking care of this little miracle! Our hearts are so full, our eyes are tired and our lives are forever changed. Life is good."
For his part, Fisher shared another photo of himself holding his newborn son, writing, "Jacob Bryan Fisher! You are a gift from the Lord!" The former NHL pro added, "The last few years has has had its challenges and it makes this moment even more sweet! We didn't know if Izzy would ever have another sibling but we learned through it all that God is in control and his timing is perfect! He is good all the time even in difficult times that are hard to understand. #grateful #miraclebaby."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Underwood, 35, and Fisher, 38, first announced that they were expecting baby no. 2 in August 2018. The proud mom, who faced a long recovery last year after seriously injuring her wrist and face in a nasty fall in November 2017, exclaimed on Instagram at the time, "Mike and Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another little fish to our pond!" Months later, Underwood revealed that she sadly had previously suffered three miscarriages.
The former American Idol star and her athlete beau aren't the only famous parents to share exciting baby announcements this week. On Tuesday, Jan. 22, Chelsea Clinton revealed that she and her husband, investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, are expecting their third child together. "Marc and I have loved watching Charlotte be such a wonderful big sister and we're excited to watch Aidan become a big brother!" the 38-year-old daughter of former President of the United States Bill Clinton and 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton tweeted at the time. "We cannot wait to meet our newest addition later this summer."
Congrats again to Underwood and Fisher on their baby news!
