Lionel Richie's Son Miles Allegedly Issued Bomb Threat At London Airport

Music icon Lionel Richie's son, Miles Richie, reportedly got himself into trouble at an airport in the United Kingdom, after allegedly stating he had a bomb on him.

According to TMZ, Miles Richie was attempting to board a flight but wasn't being permitted to do so, causing him to become angry. Eyewitnesses told the celebrity gossip rag that Miles, 24, claimed that he had a bomb in his bag and said that, if he was not allowed on his flight, he would detonate the device. As could be expected from such a remark, airport security soon arrived. And then Miles did one thing no one trying to safely hop on a flight should do: He allegedly punched one of the security officers. Police then reportedly detained Miles and issued him a "caution."

A caution is "a formal warning that is given to a person who has admitted the offence," according to askthepolice.co.uk. Should an alleged offender not accept the caution, they will be "prosecuted through the normal channels for the offence." TMZ noted that the caution will go on Miles' record but he was not charged with any crime and will not have to appear in court.

Backing up the info TMZ obtained from sources, a spokesperson for London's Metropolitan Police told People, "On Saturday, 19 January, a 24-year-old man accepted a caution for communicating false information causing a bomb hoax and battery following an incident at Heathrow Terminal 5 earlier that morning."

Besides being the son of a famous singer, Miles is also a fashion model, having made his runway debut at Philipp Plein's show during New York Fashion Week in February 2018, as reported by W magazine.

Miles' mother is Diane Alexander, Lionel Richie's ex-wife whom the artist was married to from 1995 to 2004, according to People.

At the time of this writing, Miles has not publicly commented on the alleged airport incident. As noted by Us Weekly, neither has his father.
