Swifties Agree Taylor Swift's Hangout With Jackson Mahomes Is NOT It

This article contains mention of sexual assault.

Swifties think Taylor Swift "Should've Said No" when it came to striking up a new friendship with Jackson Mahomes. The Grammy-winning musician has been creating quite the buzz since sparking her new romance with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. Since the two became an item, Swift has been spotted on the sidelines of several of games and hanging out with those closest to him. On October 22, Swift was back in her usual suite cheering on the tight end. But it wasn't just the fact that she was there that became a big deal — it's who she was with that drew fans' attention.

It's no secret that Kelce and his teammate, Patrick Mahomes, are close friends. Anyone close to the NFL player has to have a good relationship with Patrick and the rest of the Mahomes crew. That didn't seem like a problem for Swift, as the "Karma" singer began hanging out with Patrick's wife, Brittany Mahomes, in September, per J-14. Since then, the two have developed a strong friendship, with girls' nights and, of course, cheering on their men at games. Now, Swift is hanging out with even more of the Mahomes family.

When Swift attended the Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers game, she was spotted with not just Brittany, but also Patrick's little brother, Jackson Mahomes, per Page Six. The controversial internet star hung out with Swift in the exclusive suite, and Swifties were not happy about it.

Swifties hate Taylor Swift's friendship with Jackson Mahomes

Swifties are seeing "Red" after Taylor Swift attended the latest Kansas City Chiefs game and it has nothing to do with the team's signature color. Instead, it's because the musician hung out with Jackson Mahomes, along with Brittany Mahomes and several other Mahomes family members, during the Chiefs vs. Chargers game, and it quickly sparked conversation online.

Swifties took to social media to share their thoughts on Swift's new friendship with Jackson, and let's just say, they were not happy. One user tweeted, "The fact they let Jackson Mahomes in the same box as Taylor Swift needs investigated by the @FBI." Although the internet star was a row behind Swift, it seemed too close for comfort for many die-hard Swifties. Another user wrote, "Jackson Mahomes a little too close to Tay Tay. Surprised the NFL hasn't sent a blocker up to the suite."

Countless tweets and opinions flooded the internet as they bashed Jackson for being in Swift's presence. One person tweeted, "Taylor Swift's security better be on HIGH alert with Jackson Mahomes creeping around in the suite. I recommend all Swifties go and research." Jackson has become a controversial public persona not just for his cringey TikToks, but also for something much more serious — and Swifties are genuinely concerned.

Swifties are concerned about Jackson Mahomes' past

It's more than just his cringey TikToks that has Swifties up in arms about Jackson Mahomes. Ever since the social media star was spotted in the same suite as Taylor Swift, many fans have expressed concern over his sketchy past.

In May 2023, Mahomes was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault after he allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat and forced her to kiss him, per the New York Post. According to a police affidavit obtained by the Kansas City Star (via New York Post), Mahomes "grabbed [Aspen Vaughn] by the throat, forcing her head back and kissed her and put his tongue in her mouth." The influencer did all of this without Vaughn's consent as she attempted to push Mahomes off of her. Ultimately, Mahomes was released on a $100,000 bond, but that isn't the end of the case.

Mahomes' preliminary hearing for the alleged assault is set for October 24, mere days after his public appearance with Swift. Swifties find this outing all too convenient for Mahomes as one user on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote, "putting jackson mahomes in the box with taylor so he gets good coverage before his preliminary hearing for his SA case in TWO DAYS is so f***ing sinister." The tweet alludes to Mahomes potentially using Swift's good reputation and media coverage for his benefit. Clearly, Mahomes' possible friendship with Swift isn't sitting well with fans, especially given her own past.

Fans called out Taylor Swift for being seen with Jackson Mahomes

Jackson Mahomes wasn't the only one facing backlash from the Swifties on October 22. Some fans even called out Taylor Swift because she herself was a victim of sexual assault.

In 2013, a radio station DJ, David Mueller, groped Swift as they posed for a photo, per Refinery 29. Over the next four years, Swift would go back and forth in court against Mueller after she infamously sued him for $1. Swift even testified in court against the DJ, sharing that the situation was "despicable and horrifying and shocking." Eventually, in 2017, Mueller was found guilty of sexually assaulting the "Karma" singer. Because of Swift's past, many fans were left in disbelief and disappointment that she would be seen with Mahomes, who has been accused of sexual assault.

According to Page Six, one X user wrote, "i love taylor and i'd defend her until the end of time but watching her interact with jackson mahomes today was truly disgusting as someone who's been [sexually assaulted]." The criticism toward Swift continued, as many fans shared their disgust toward the musician being friendly toward Mahomes. Fans are hoping that this was the first and last time Swift will be seen with Jackson Mahomes given his dodgy past.
