Toni Braxton And Birdman Call It Quits
Toni Braxton and Birdman have reportedly ended their relationship.
E! News reports that Birdman posted on his Instagram Story on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, writing, "It's over..." The rapper, whose real name is Bryan Christopher Williams, then reportedly deleted the post, as well as all other posts on his Instagram account.
Braxton also deleted photos from her Instagram, wiping her page clean save for one post shared on New Year's Day. In the post, Braxton wears a red gown with a plunging cut and a pair of long black gloves. In the caption, she wrote, "Starting a new chapter isn't always an easy choice...but ALWAYS choose to be chosen." She added, "Cheers to a new year," alongside a champagne flutes emoji.
E! News also noted that Birdman and Braxton are no longer following one another on Instagram.
In February 2018, Braxton revealed that she and Birdman had gotten engaged in a teaser for her reality TV show, Braxton Family Values (via E! News). The two celebrities had started dating in 2016, though they'd previously met in 2002 after collaborating on "Baby You Can Do It."
When she appeared as a guest on The Wendy Williams Show in November 2018, Braxton, who said she was friends with Birdman for 17 years before they got together romantically, shared that Birdman wanted to get married before the year was over, but they hadn't yet set a date.
Later that month, Braxton lost her engagement ring after her Louis Vuitton luggage, in which she stored her sparkler, went missing after a Delta flight, as reported by The Blast. While the airline was able to recover the luggage, her ring wasn't found.
If the two artists had wed, it would have been Birdman's first marriage and Braxton's second, as noted by the Daily Mail. Before dating Birdman, the "Un-Break My Heart" singer was married to Keri Lewis, with whom she shares two children, for 12 years.
At the time of this writing, it's unclear just what caused Braxton and Birdman to reportedly break up.
