Actor Forest Whitaker Files For Divorce From Wife Keisha Nash
It's over between Black Panther star Forest Whitaker and his wife, actress Keisha Nash.
The Blast reports that Whitaker filed for divorce from Nash after 22 years of marriage on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018. According to court documents obtained by the media outlet, the movie star cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for calling it quits and requested a termination in the court's ability to grant spousal support to his ex.
Whitaker, 57, and Nash, 46, tied the knot in May 1996 after meeting on the set of Blown Away two years earlier. The former couple share two children together, daughters Sonnet, 22, and True, 20 (via Entertainment Tonight).
At the time of this writing, further details surrounding their divorce proceedings have yet to be revealed, and neither has publicly commented on the matter. Additionally, it is currently unclear what exactly led to Whitaker and Nash's breakup. However, the Star Wars actor recently took to Twitter to reflect on the holiday season, writing, "Christmas is a celebration of solidarity — a time of the year when we are reminded that the bonds our families, friends, fellow citizens and beyond are based on sharing and bringing joy." Alongside a present emoji, Whitaker added, "#MerryChirstmas to you all!"
Unfortunately, Whitaker and Nash aren't the only celeb pairing to split in recent weeks. As Nicki Swift previously reported, Michael Fishman, who's best known for portraying D.J. Conner on Roseanne and The Conners, took steps to end his 19-year marriage with wife Jennifer Briner earlier this week. Amid their "amicable" breakup, the former couple filed for a separation together on Thursday, Dec. 27.
Meanwhile, Arrow star Colton Haynes and celebrity florist Jeff Leatham reportedly moved forward with their own divorce in mid-December — just months after reconciling their relationship. While the estranged exes initially called it quits after six months of marriage in May 2018, they later got back together and marked their one-year wedding anniversary on social media in late October.
