Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth Confirm Marriage On Social Media
Congratulations are in order for pop star Miley Cyrus and her longtime boyfriend, actor Liam Hemsworth!
The "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" singer took to Instagram this week to confirm that The Last Song co-stars officially tied the knot on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018.
"10 years later," Cyrus wrote to her 77.6 million followers, captioning a black-and-white snapshot of the newlyweds with their arms around each other. While also sharing a slideshow of similar photos, the singer-actress posted a pic of the two sharing a kiss, writing, "This is probably our one – millionth kiss." For his part, Hemsworth also shared the first photo on Twitter. Completing his short but sweet caption with a red heart emoji, the Hunger Games star wrote, "My love."
Cyrus donned a gorgeous Vivienne Westwood dress on the couple's big day, while Hemsworth sported a suit with white Vans (via E! News). According to a source cited by Entertainment Tonight, the ceremony, which took place in their Tennessee home, was "small and intimate and rather spontaneous." The insider added, "They did some quick pre-planning before the holiday and decided that they didn't want a big elaborate wedding. They truly wanted to keep it a secret ... They just wanted the people most important in their lives present. It was so touching."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Cyrus, 26, and Hemsworth, 28, first met on the set of 2010's The Last Song. After initially announcing their engagement two years later, the on-and-off couple, who lost their Malibu, Calif. home in the state's ravaging wildfires last month, famously called it quits in 2013. However, by October 2016, the newly married pair had rekindled their romance. As Cyrus told Billboard the following March, "I needed to change so much. And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard. Suddenly you're like, 'I don't recognize you anymore.' We had to refall for each other."
A number of fans and celebs have since taken to social media to react to the private pair's exciting wedding news — including none other than the author of The Last Song, Nicholas Sparks. "This makes me so happy," he tweeted. "Congratulations @MileyCyrus and @LiamHemsworth. #TheLastSong."
Readers may already be aware that several other celeb pairings have also taken major steps in their own relationships this holiday season. Singer Meghan Trainor and Spy Kids' Daryl Sabara got hitched on Saturday, Dec. 22, in a winter-themed ceremony held outside their Los Angeles home. Meanwhile, Empire star Terrence Howard proposed to his ex-wife, model Mira Pak, for a second time earlier this week. The previously married pair reunited shortly after finalizing their divorce three years ago.
Congrats again to Cyrus and Hemsworth on their nuptials!
