Cardi B Shares First Pic Of Daughter Kulture Following Offset Split
Rapper Cardi B is introducing her daughter to the world!
On Wednesday evening, Dec. 5, 2018, the "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker took to Instagram to share the first photo of her five-month-old daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus — shortly after calling it quits with her Migos rapper husband, Offset.
"My heart," Cardi B (real name Belcalis Almánzar) simply wrote with a red heart emoji, captioning an adorable snapshot of her baby girl donning an all-pink outfit while sitting in her car seat.
Prior to this, the "Be Careful" rapper understandably had her reservations about sharing a glimpse of her only child on social media. As Cardi B told Entertainment Tonight in mid-November 2018, "I'm scared of sharing her to the world. There are too many mean people out there." Noting at the time that she planned to post a pic "one day, soon," the proud mom added, "Sometimes I do want to show people how beautiful and how precious she is. She's so precious. There's a lot of people that have crazy minds, you know. I want to protect her! She's my little buggy."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Cardi B and Offset, both 26, welcomed little Kulture in July 2018, after secretly tying the knot last fall. However, the married pair decided to split earlier this week. In a video message to her 36.6 million Instagram followers, the "I Like It" rapper said in part, "Things just haven't been working out between us for a long time and it's nobody's fault." Cardi B added, "I guess we grew out of love, but we're not together anymore. I don't know. It might take time to get a divorce and I'm gonna always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter's father and yah."
According to a source recently cited by E! News, "Cardi is upset ... [and] would love to keep the family together, but knows this is what is best right now."
Cardi B isn't the only celeb mom to introduce their kiddo to the world in recent months. In late October 2018, the Mindy Project's Mindy Kaling delighted her fans with the first photo of daughter Katherine Swati, 10 months after welcoming her baby girl into the world. While the cute pic didn't show her child's face, the mom-daughter duo could be seen holding hands while in costume, as Kaling wrote in the caption, "Happy Halloween from this bottle of mustard and her little lion."
